Many years ago I was almost busted for being incontinent by my sister.
I lived in her apartment for a couple of months, and sshe noticed that my things smelled of urine.
IJ tried to put the blame on an organic fertilizer I used on my plants.
I could not feel any smell myself, but I guess it was a pair of shoes that had been exposed to one of my mishappenings...
I never found out. Since then, I have been aware that others sence smell long before me.
The same way as one can become speed blind, it is possible to become smell blind.
I am a little paranoid about it.. Often I use strong perfume to blend in ev odor.
Would like to hear what experiences you folks have..

Stay well hydrated and STOP THOSE LEAKS. Properly fitting diapers of a decent quality and that are taped correctly should not be leaking if changed at reasonable intervals. Are you wearing plastic pants over your diaper?

Smell blind or not, you should not have any clothing or furniture smelling of old urine. Are you aware of "pee lights?" These are ultraviolet flashlights that allow one to take advantage of the fact that dried urine fluoresces under UV light. It is a big help to locate old urine stains in order to clean them up.

I am double incontinent. I don't smell of pee or poop and neither does my clothing or furniture. It just requires a little more attention to managing our incontinence.

Agreed, unless you are wearing the same diaper for 8+ hours, people around you should not be able to smell you (for just pee anyways). It's when your diaper leaks, or doesn't have a good enough seal to limit air escaping, that others can start smelling you, so you need to make sure your diapers are fitting properly. If they aren't, then you need better diapers. Simple.

If you're still worried about the smell, then get a good diaper cover. I find this also has the benefit of helping me to notice any minor leaks before they become a wet spot or otherwise noticeable.
