So while I have been lurking for several weeks, I have largely not made any posts here. I've been traveling a lot for work, then went on holiday with my family to Hawaii. It has been absolutely beautiful here- warm enough that my IC has disappeared for the summer (I hope- at least as long as I'm here anyhow) and the lack of rain has helped my other triggers alot. I just go swimming in the ocean, and the fish don't seem to mind if I pee a bit- they do too.

I went on a snorkel charter last night and got to swim with a group of manta rays. Wow! they are so graceful and huge. They came within a foot of me, and these ranged in size from six to ten feet across. A once in a lifetime experience. I would recommend it for almost anyone. I think many paras could do this too, as they stuff you into a wetsuit which offers enough flotation that you can simply float with your mask/face in the water watching these gentle giants.

Think about this possibility as you go through your temporary struggles, and consider adding this to your bucket list. It was very inspirational.

You make me jealous. That's been on my bucket list for a long time.

Hope you had a blast.

Tom,

I'm sure it was inspirational. That you are a member in good standing here, and were nevertheless able to enjoy that trip says volumes for the rest of us. You are an example for me, and, I'm sure, for many others. Kudos and thanks.

Congratulations on your trip and the remission from your IC. Let's hope it is gone for good.

Thank you all for your kind replies, this has been a fantastic trip. I've done lots of snorkeling with the kids, indulged in the local rum, and spent lots of time doing nothing. As for my IC - it will return like the swallows of Capistrano. But I am enjoying the respite.

WetDad - I'm happy to hear that you and your family are having a great time, and that your IC has abated. Also, I hope you're wrong in your parallel to the swallows....
