Mentally and physically?

jms,
It is obvious that you have progressed a long way along the learning curve for coping with incontinence. Congratulations! Also, becoming more comfortable with the dreaded "D" word is a good indication of acceptance and dealing with the issue. It was difficult for a lot of us.
Several of us have commented that our wives seem to have a better sense of smell than we do and are better qualified to advise us about odor.

I can confirm this. Every now and again my wife will quietly tell me I need a change. Usually I don't go too long in between changes though, so this seldom happens.
I believe after a while we just get used to smelling our pee and become desensitized to it.

JMS,
My wife is the same way, and thank god she is. She has more than likely saved me from hundreds of rashes by simple saying when is the last time you have changed. Yes, diaper is a house hold word now in our home.

I can't always SMELL when it is time to change but I can always FEEL it... does that make sense? Hope so, since that's about as helpful as I can be!
