Porkchop,

I also just wear my regular underwear (tighty whiteys) over the diaper and that helps stop chaffing. Something to consider.

JD,
The purple diapers were indeed the MoliCares, that sounds about right! Thank you for sparking my memory. The Moli's were one of the brands which I had skin irritations with, I think from whatever they used for odor control. I will begin looking into these 'compression pants' you mention, in addition to some good onesies. Maybe I should start a post on good places to get those two things, see what GroupThink says is best! :)

Patrick,
Thank you for those kind words and I will keep everyone posted! Sorry if I am blowing up the forum, seems like I've been posting a lot lately....

MsShendo,
Thank you for that, it's good to know!! :)

It wouldn't be a bad thing if we had a section here that was a listing of places to get items. Maybe we should suggest that.

Thanks Schoppy, I will check out that link!!! If I think of anything, I will message you.... though I think I'll be on the learning track, not the teaching one, for awhile yet.

To the OP-

I wear my diaper/nappy so that it hides my bits within. I start by adding a lengthwise crease down the middle of the crotch area. Then I tape it in place with the edges up tight in my leg creases on either side of the bits. FWIW, I tape the bottom first, then the top.

I will try that technique, thanks!!

Porkchop ... I'm not quite sure of where your current chaffing challenge is. So let me address a general problem of diaper plastic causing chaffing.

In my experience, chaffing is caused by the diaper being too tight around the legs or by the plastic causing friction on the inside of my thigh. This can be especially problematic during strenuous leg activity exercising, in a high heat climate or during periods of high humidity.

To help with that, I use corn starch based (not talc) baby powder. I use it on my male parts prior to putting the diaper on. After I've placed a the diaper on, I put powder on the inside of the thigh. While not a total solution, this does cut down with the chaffing by absorbing moisture.

Of course if you are sinching up the diaper too tightly around your legs, then that can cause bad chaffing as well.

Best wishes ... Keep us posted.

ILuvLA,

I think I might've been taping them too tight? It has gotten better when loosing it a bit, but I now worry more about leaks. :|

It's a fine line between "loose", "snug", "tight", & "overtight". It's a matter of trial and error in order to find what works for you, your body type, and the diaper you are using. And for those moments when I want "extra-assurance", then a water-proof diaper will do; for example, a Gary PUL cover.

In time, you'll find the right combination, method, product, etc. Hang in there!

And if you haven't read it, read both the diaper primer and JD's White Paper. They both have sections on positioning, tightening, covers, etc.
