Hello Tim, and Welcome! :D

Sorry to hear about your problems. You definitely are in the right place and among friends who share your problem and understand. The group here is very experienced and extremely helpful. Different from other forums, you will find that the people here can offer specific and very useful suggestions rather than just emotional support. However, we all also offer (and need) emotional support.

I'm double incontinent and wear diapers 24/7. At times, instead I wear an external catheter (condom catheter).

To start off, I recommend that you check out two very useful resources in the Articles section right here on this site. First there is the excellent and detailed New Diaper Primer at the following link - http://www.incontinentsupport.org/primer_index.php

Secondly, I recommend my own briefer work "An Introduction to Adult Diapers: Their Selection and Wear," at the following link - http://www.incontinentsupport.org/Intro ... iapers.pdf

It also is very helpful to browse through the past messages in the archive. Use the search function to search for particular words of interest. When my incontinence first became more severe, I found very useful information this way - and still do.

Again, welcome Tim. You will hear from many others here.

--John

Tim78,

Anyone that has arthritis in the spine has degenerative disc disease. I don't know if your doc explained degenerative disc disease, but it is very common for those over the age of 50, and becomes more common with age as the disc in the spine begin to show there wear. Any of the anti-inflammatory meds work well to relieve the aches and pains associated with inflammation of the disc, and joints.

I don't say when you started having bladder problems (incontinence), but I can assure you any form of degenerative disc disease you may have is NOT related to your incontinence unless you have a more serious underlying problem such as nerve damage. I highly recommend you see your doc about your incontinence issues.

Hope this helps.

Hellow Tim. Welcome to the site. I wish you the best. You could not have come to a better site for support and information. Your input is welcome here and we all wish you the best. As you search through the forums here you will notice that we all gather information from each other and well all rally around each other as family. We vent to each other in frustration because we sometimes just have days like that. Again, you could not have come to a better place. Welcome.

Hi Tim

I too am in my late 30's and have a type of urge incontinence that means I am in diapers 24/7.

Welcome to the community it is truly a great place to engage with great kind people.

I too was a slave to the loo and now feel sort of liberated wearing protection.

Tim,

Add my tardy welcome to our leaky group. Although we like to refer to ourselves as family here, thankfully, we do not display the drama so common to the behavior of many families. The drama we share here is pretty much limited to dealing with the disability we share in common, which is drama enough.

The support we offer here is unequivocal, and without conditions. It is the support of fellow sufferers. Whatever we experience, whatever the crisis, somebody here has endured it before, and can offer the support that comes only from someone who has been there.

Hi Tim

Welcome to the group,

This site has been a great help from support from fellow members who are going through similar issues to the great information you find to help deal with IC issues.
