Disposables or cloth diapers? And why?

Sounds interesting I wish there was a place a person could go and see these things in person. And not just stuck on a computer guessing and hoping you get the right one.............Sandy

All kinds of questions

Hi Gang,
Joe, you asked about the Babykins order I placed. Well I messed up on my money order, and had to resend. They'll probably be in in 7 to 10 days. My My Lil'Miracle (indisposable) diaper has held up well to the many washings. Velcro is doing great! What I really like about that diaper is the snug fit. I do like th looseness feel with my other diapers, but that one feels different.
Joe I see your post all of the time on the Yahhoo group. I'm glad to see you here again. Sany and I have been doing a good job keeping things active here! ..................Paul

Sandy,
That protex for life site is based out of Houston, Texas, Bart and Brenda seem to stay busy at that site. I've ordered their "ice" plastic pants and their cloth diaper.
The nylon pants that Tony talked about looks like a pair of fancy plastic pants babies wore back in the 60's/70's when parents took them to fancy places like church. My pair is very comfortable and soft. Not much noice with my pair.
Did that AB/DL site have a cheaper price on the frilly plastic panties than Protex? I always go for the cheapest price, but I do only when I know of the quality. You're right, though, about seeing the product in person before buying. There are not many adult diaper stores around though! The only ones I know are the home health stores that carry wheel chairs and the other stuff. They have a very limited supply of adult diapers and plastic pants, though. I do admit , though, that's where I bought my first pair of plastic pants many years ago. .......................Paul

One more thing

Mon Nov 05, 2007 9:31 am

Sandy,
I forgot to comment on thw AB/DL crowd. You are right about more incontinent people that AB/DL people. The AB/DL crowd are very active on these sitew that sell diapers. What I was trying to say was that there are probably more people on line buying these diapers/plastic pants than incontinent customers.
I don't know if you noticed it, but there have been many stories on TV about this crowd. Talk shows and TV seris shows too. I remember a CSI episode about a man who was murdered, who was a member of a AB/DL club. The investagators found it unusual of finding this grown man dead in a cloth diaper. I won't go into the details, but they told of people in this crowd who did this.
I'm not an AB/DL, but they are really coming out of the closet. You see so much of it on these forums and adult diaper sites. Any ways, just wanted to clarify my comment. .........Paul

Babykins plastic pants

TONY
I've used the nylon pants and like them. The lion's share of my pants are vinyl. I think one of my first ever pair of waterproof pants was poly, but I think they called it urethane coated tricot pants. Is that the same as poly pants or close to it? I ordered these from the old Sears and Roebuck catalog. Boy, have things changed since then!! ......Paul(Martin)

Hi Paul
I wasn't aware that that was so wide spread on TV. Most of the time all I watch is nick at night, AMC, TMC, Fox News, Speed channel, ESPN and once in a while the history channel. Don't let me for get Pastor Scott at midnight on ION Television................Sandy

Sandy's decission

Sandy,
Did you ever decide on another type plastic pants to add to your supply? You've been bombarded with lots of opinions from all of us. Too bad there's not another female on this site that could give you some suggestions. There are a lot of females users on the yahoo site that use cloth diapers that post on an ongoing basis.
Anyways, just let us know when you decide! ................Paul(Martin)

Sandy's Plastic Pants

Tue Nov 06, 2007 8:00 pm

Well for right now I have four pairs of plastic pants. Two are the lacy ones and two are the EBay semi clear ones. I think I'm going to hold out for a little while and I may get some more if or when I order some more cloth diapers.

My young friend is thinking of trying cloth diapers for night time use. If she goes for it I'll more then likely have to order them for her. Maybe I'll get some coming then for me as well. Maybe I can get a better price if I order more then just a few items......................Sandy

I was talking to my friend Tammy (more my age) I think I've mentioned her before. We met years ago before the age of the Internet. At a medical supply outfit that we both use to buy our protection at. I told her about using cloth she said what are you into?? Then she said why??? I told her about them but she has no interest what so ever. I thought maybe I could get her turned onto cloth maybe? and really get an order together.

Tammy's bladder problems are no where near mine so maybe cloth would be over kill for her. Most of the time during the day she wears the belted undergarments and sometimes wears briefs but those are the ultra thin ones they look to have about the same amount of protection as the belted ones. She does wear briefs at night. I sometimes buy stuff for her on line if I see a good deal

Anyway all for now............Sandy

Sandy and her friends

Sandy,
Many sites on the internet who sell cloth diapers do give a discount for ordering 3 or more at a time. I'm about to order some of the gauze diapers from Adult Cloth Diaper (ACD) and I'll get 6 at a time. I'll save about $3.00 per diaper.
I do remenber you speaking about a friend you met buying diapers for"someone else". Sounds like her incontinence is not that bad, so she never even thought about cloth. Maybe someone who has light incontinence really don't need to think about cloth diapers.
I think it's great your young friend is considering cloth diapers. I really think it's the "washing thing" that makes people not consider cloth diapers.
If you could get Tammy, your young friend and youself together on an order, you could really save! I was wondering a while back where your other friend went to. Glad she's still around to talk to you. They both might want to condsider joining this board. They could atleast view the post here along with the primer to see how things are. ...................Paul(Martin)
