Hi Karen W,
On behalf of Michael L, myself and many contributors, thank you vey much for the kind words about the Primer! We are so happy when we hear that the Primer is doing its job....helping people deal with the difficulties of incontinence.
I want to invite you to join a Yahoo group. Our Webmaster and the group owner allow and encourage the interchange between that group and this Forum. The group is members only and you must write a short introductory letter that is approved by the owner, Paul G. He is easy; he only wants to keep out the obnoxious types which makes his moderating job easier. We allow absolutely no spamming and no flaming. If you’ve been on other forums, you know there are creeps who seem to enjoy jumping on people’s posts and ripping them apart.
Once you are “in” at the Adult Incon group, your posts will go up immediately just as they do here. Moderation is done after the fact and if a post is inappropriate, it will be short lived. We have a great mature bunch of folks at Adult Incon and we will make you welcome there, I assure you!

One of our members, Walter, recently went thru the same thing considering a diaper service. He was tired of leaky disposables but did not want to do laundry. He got many tips and all of them positive toward the diaper service. After going with the service for a short time, we got this posting Jan 5th.

Just a thank you, once again, to the many of you that encouraged me
to begin using a diaper service. Not only are the cloth diapers far
more comfortable than disposables, but provide me with virtually leak
proof protection. I haven't worn a disposable in two weeks, and found
that even when away from home for the day, carrying extra diapers in
a small gym bag is really no hassle. I just put the wet ones in a
plastic bag, and later drop them in the diaper hamper when I get home.
No one has mentioned seeing the diaper service van come to our home,
nor when a girlfriend of my wife's was over last week and used the
bathroom was any mention made of the diaper hamper sitting next to
the toilet and stacks of diapers on the shelf. I guess that we
incontinents worry more about our problem, and no one else really
cares or pays any attention to how we manage our disability.
I do believe, that incontinence is so much in the open today, that
most people just accept it as a need for certain people and nothing
else.
We see ads on television for incontinence products, and virtually all
drug stores and supermarkets have large quantities of incontinence
items on their shelves. I was in a Safeway recently, and nearly a
full aisle was stocked with products.
So, I would encourage any of you that have a diaper service that
offers an adult service in your area to consider it as a very viable
option for your incontinence management. The best part is the comfort
and protection of cloth diapers, and no laundry! Well, yes you do
have to wash your waterproof pants.

It’s Joe K back again, Karen. Walter was concerned about the diaper truck visits and what the neighbors would think. For him it seems to have turned out to be a non-issue. If you share that concern, ask your proposed service if they use an unmarked van for the adult route. I know some services across the country do offer unmarked vans while others have magnetic signs that cover over any diaper reference when making adult diaper pick up/deliveries. So it would not hurt to ask them.
Good luck, Karen, please keep us informed here at the ISC and I hope we see you at the Adult Incon group as well!
Joe K here and Joe S there....the Irishman, either place.
