Hi Jim here 40 year old male with OAB . I am using pelvic floor muscles and bladder training to stop my self from wetting which works very well some times but problem I have is sometimes when I squeeze the muscles hard to stop a sudden strong urge instead of stopping the flow it seems to make it worse and if I stop squeezing my pelvic muscles the urge eases this is very frustrating because what else do you have to stop urine only your pelvic muscles. Does any one else find this problem and what can be happening, it is very hard to have hope with this problem when I spend about one hour every doing pelvic exercises and still cannot have good bladder control. Other than over active bladder I am in good health. If any one has any ideas I would be grateful. Thanks Philip |

Hey Jimo, if you spend that much time doing the Kegels, and still have problems, maybe something else is going on? I find when I pinch, I leak a bit, and have continual prostate infections, chronic non-bacterial prostatitus the doc says. It comes and goes, but when it arrives, I have more problems with urgency. Hope you get to the bottom of it all, Puffy |

Thanks for your reply puffy pants. I do seem to spent a lot of time doing pelvic exercises as I find it very hard to except that I cannot control my bladder considering I am so fit , I lift weights twice a week and swim four times a week . The only medical options for me are bladder botox injections or have a nureostimulator fitted to my bladder nerves both of which I am not keen on. Most people here seem to be wearing diapers which I fear would be giving in and i would feel like a child but maybe I will have to get over the fear. As for now I will keep doing the exercises for a few more years in the hope things will improve although its not likely. Best of luck with your own problems puffy and thanks JIM |
