Depends are the worst
I had the same issue with the cloth like 
I'm with you guys plastic is the only way to go

Not sure what to do I am currently wearind depend underwear for men large Super plus and I get chaffing all the time to the point it hurts to walk. I have also tried Tena pants as well but still get chaffing well that's two brands that are easily accessible in Australia? Also I have to keep pulling them up all the time are these issues the same with all pull ups? Also with the depend when I pull them up after using the toilet they feel wet against the crotch area. I used to wear boxers and the brief type underwear but they just got wet near the leg guards so I don't bother any more |

Hi Tom 23, Many of us share your experience with "cloth-like" backing and yet it is touted as being more comfortable and quieter than plastic backing. And that may be true for some folks. All "underwear" incon products come with "cloth-like" backing so you've no option to try a plastic backed product to see if the "slip" will reduce or eliminate chaffing. If you wish to invest in a pair of plastic pants and can get a trim fit pant such as KINS "low rider" pants (#40300V) that layer of plastic between your thighs may help stop the chaffing. Use powder, that always helps. In warm conditions, sweating may not be a bad thing with plastic, as the liquid (sweat) can be a lubricant to let you walk without chaffing. The cloth-like backing, even wet with sweat can still be abrasive and cause chaffing. If you've worn plastic backed tape on diapers and not chaffed, that should indicate the plastic pants will help with the underwear products. I am assuming you want the underwear product for ease of using the toilet. You mentioned having to pull them up...yes, that is a problem with any elastic waist product....they work OK when dry for the most part but as soon as you wet them, the extra weight starts to pull them down as you walk. If your protection is going to get wet, only tape on diapers will work well at staying up....assuming you can get a good fit and the tapes snug. But that defeats the purpose of wearing some protection that lets you easily use the toilet, and quickly when the need arises. |

I'm with Joe on this subject. I've tried the pull ups and after a short time I was constantly pulling them up. I went to a plastic backed brief and life was much easier after that. Now I just change at my regular times and don't tend to think about it in between. It's just a matter of routine I guess. I never have any issues with chaffing. I will say that early on I used the Depends brand and found them to be worthless. |

My mind is now conflicted as ATM I get to the toilet most times and have noticeable accidents about once a week maybe more depending but at the end of the day the pull up is always moist. So do I continue like I am ATM or basically give up the toilet and use briefs? Not sure how my bladder and mentally will accept that. But have considered it Hope this makes sense |

Not all all! With a brief you get a lot more freedom from the bathroom but you can still use it. I can pull a brief down and still get it back up if needed. In my case I leak enough that I generally just wait until my predetermined times and just go and change. Lots easier that way. Wrapping your mind around it is a lot easier if you know you don't need a bathroom right around the corner all the time. |

I've tried the Depends male pull-on underwear. They are fine if you plan on changing them every time you wet a little. My problem with them is the sag. Once wet they really sag and droop. The elastic wasteband is not strong enough to combat the sag, With the sagging they tend to open up in the leggings and I've had several major leaks down the legs because of this. I've also tried a couple other brands of pull-up underwear but pretty much had the same results. They are not made for sleeping. They are not made for extended wear and they leak. I for one like the cloth-like backed disposables. I do not get a rash from the cloth-like outer cover. I like the velcro-like tapes much better than the adhesive tapes on plastic backed disposables. I used to have problems with the adhesive tapes failing but have never had a problem with the velcro type tapes. They are not nearly as noisy as the plastic backed disposables. They are much easier to untape and retape without ruining the tapes or the backing. I don't wear a great deal of disposables as I prefer cloth diapers. I do seem to break out in a rash when I wear disposables for more than a day or two in a row. The rash is not from the backing because it happens whether or not it is cloth or plastic backed. Besides it is not a chaffing type rash. I stay pretty much rash free with cloth diapers. |

I wear one of the cloth backed pull ups with a plastic backed pad inside. I also may wear a tight fitting pair of plastic pants (Plastic Pants for Disposables from Fetware http://www.fetware.com/plastic-pants-for-disposables-p-14.html?osCsid=juulstkinqg3rgusgnndimeoe0) , another larger cut pair of plastic pants (high back urethane from Fetware also) then a boxer brief over it all. When wet I just change the insert, when I get home the pull up is wet enough to be thrown away and I change to regular tape on diaper. Cost of the disposables isn't a problem for us and my wife says to do/buy what I want. |

i see all this complaning about chaffing with disposable bkins a real company in canada will make anything for you its quaity made product thick or thin that works dont be afread to call thy beem making incontinence gear for years they are nice wont make you feel like you are weird they understand how uncomforable it is to be inco their products are well made price fair in the long run you will save time an money
