My father has worn this type of urinal for almost 40 years. I have recently found out that the company that was making them has dissapeared from the face of the Earth. Can anyone out there tell me please where to get more?

Hi Chris,

I think you are the same Chris that our webmaster replied to in e-mail but let me post his response here for the benefit of other readers who may have some interest in the McGuire urinal.

Credit our own Schoppy for the following:

I did a quick search on Google for the urinal.
Here are some of the sites that I found that sell them.

OK, Joe K back again, and for Chris and others, if you are intersted in a good non diaper alternative, look on our home page-not the Primer, now, but on our home page see the menu item "Understanding" and in that drop down click on catheters for our discussion of condom caths followed by a short section on the rubber sheath urinals with McGuire being about the only surviving product these days.

IMO...FWIW...and that would be no more than two cents! I would opt for the condom cath using the adhesive attachment. I don't like them but they are much more secure and "comfortable" than the rubber sheath urinal. The daisy petal stick on style that sticks ONLY to the tip of the penis is ideal if you can tolerate it. I have no experience with it, but if you can tolerate something stuck to your glans, the most sensitive part of your penis, then you will reap the reward of a very secure arrangement affecting a very minimum amount of skin.

Keep in mind, skin is stressed by anything stuck to it so the less affected skin the better. And wet diapers can stress skin, but in my case, much less than condom adhesives.....which steers me toward diapers rather than condom caths.

I started weaering davol urinals at the age of 13 when a incontinent friend showed me his. They work well for me, sometimes a leg bag is easier to deal with diapers..I still use diapers more but a urinal makes sence.
I tried the condom caths but they won't stay on me. The waist strap keeps my mcguire where it belongs, and no you don't have to be "well hung" to use one. You need a little practice putting it on, and a little time to get use to wearing a urinal but they are a good option.

I've been investigating all kinds of condom cath/leg bag setups, mostly to give my skin a rest from cloth and disposable diapers. I found that it helped me to use a "cuff" (stretchy foam with velcro closure) in putting on the Mcguire, to keep it from pulling off. Also with condom caths.

I'd recommend checking Ebay for these; prices seem better than a lot of the sites shown.
