This is a miserable experience I would not like to repeat. I went to an event with my wife and kids today in the city. On the way to the event, I had a misfortunate involuntary bowel event in the diaper while walking. I thought I was going to pass wind but that clearly was not the case. My bowels did a full release on me. It was terrible. I was wearing an Xplus with plastic pants under my clothing. It was outside so nobody noticed. I had to change because it was diarrhea. If it was solid, I probably would have left it for a more convenient place to change. I had to go to the porta johns. These things are so nasty! Why can't people pee in the giant hole in the toilet. They hit everything but! I went into this thing and had to change. I took the diaper off and cleaned myself up with baby wipes. That went off without a hitch. You're probably wondering what I did with the soiled diaper. Well, I couldn't take it out with me. There were too many people. I didn't want to put a soiled diaper in my backpack either. The smell would have been bad and nobody would have been wanting to be near me. I didn't want to throw it in the hole because some poor guy has to clean that nasty thing. I didn't want that. So I left it in the trash inside the porta john. There was a small bucket with a little bit of trash in it. So I reluctantly left it in there. I figured that was the safest place. I didn't know what else to do with it. I couldn't carry it around. Putting the new diaper on was tricky too. I had to carefully, lean against the door without it coming open and apply the brief. I was afraid of the door coming open and someone seeing me. My carefulness worked out. I was able to put it on and come out on top. I did forget my wipes in the john though. I did not go back for them. I have been incontinent for 4 years. I have never had this happen to me. And I don't want a repeat. Ever!

This is why I usually carry a plastic walmart or target bag in my backpack. I put the used diaper in it and tie it up and put it in my backpack. Then later I can throw it away in a regular trash can, in front of everyone, and no one knows what is in it.

I had a similar experience a few months ago and it was not pleasant.

As miserable an experience as it sounds like it was Don, and then some, it sounds like you handled it like a trooper, and did what you needed to, in less the desirable conditions. I have yet to see a porta-pottie unit that I actually thought was clean enough for me to even want to step into, they are all disgusting, people just don't seem to care how they leave it when they are done. Makes you wonder if their homes are like that for cleanliness when they use it too? Puffy

And you're talking about Canada, Puff, where I feel people are more "proper" (not sure if that's the right term) but due to the back ground and influence of the British.....as opposed to the more upstart and brash Americans.

I agree for sure! In the States here, I've not seen a portapotty that I'd want to step into! Makes me really appreciate my diaper when I am out with someone at some event where there are only the portable toilets and I wait in the clean outside while he ventures inside to relieve himself.

I feel for Don and the horrible experience. I am very lucky to have decent bowel control and can count on one hand the times I've "lost it" in my diaper over many years....generally an episode of diarrhea....and in every case I've made what ever excuse necessary and went home to get into the shower and start the clean up. Dealing with just wipes and in the confines of a filthy porta john is a tribute to Don and his ability to overcome!

Yes I have changed in a portapotty. Not exactly my favorite place for a change but when it is the only option ...
