Can stress bring on incontinence or at least make it worse? There has been a lot of stress the last few weeks and I was down to just a leak most of the time. But I woke up last night fully wetting my self twice.I also had a bowel movement in my pants and did not feel a thing until I felt wet.I thought my pad had leaked but I had messed my self. :( Today I just sort of have bowel leakage. Not a lot at a time but just leaks out.It is real thin I think from being stressed about things going on with one of our kids.

Thank`s for any comments Wink[/u]

Stress can take a big toll on your digestive track. Your body will release different levels of hormones as a response. As a result your body will react differently, like diarhea, until the stressor is removed.

Stress can play a major factor on your health in general, and can definetly make incon worse, been there, done that. I find when I have higher levels of stress in life, be it from work, finances, I have a much greater time managing urgency  . I try and spend as much time as I can just chilling and relaxing, to take the worry out of life, if at all possible. Night time is worse at these times for me too. I am sure if you ask any heart attack survivors, they had major stress to deal with in life prior to having a jammer  I now try to get in as much "me" time as possible doing what I enjoy, seen far too many gone at much too young an age! I have a mental health disability known as Bipolar Disorder. I used to suffer from alot of depression and anxiety. I have been in alot of therapy helping me to reduce my stress. I have found that in doing so, my life has improved dramatically. Now, I take the time to notice small things like the birds, the flowers, the stars, and most of all my children as they grow. Before my medication got regulated and I found my new therapist, my life was a big pile of crap. I was in so much trouble. I'm doing much better now with very little stress. So I know first hand what stress can do to you.
