I would like to alert you folks who try new and different diapers...like myself....that the country of origin is not always apparent.

I found these diapers: Active Ultra Plus with this attractive hype:

*************Our Active Ultra Plus brief has exceeded all industry expectations and are superior to the top-of-the-line briefs made by Abena, Molicare, Tena and Eurobrief. *****************

Well, I fell for it and upon receiving my diapers found the "made in China" on the package.

URL is ProvidersChoiceMed.com

Now I am reluctant to try them with all the bad stories coming out about Chinese manufactured goods ..... the toothpaste thing is fresh in my mind.

Hi JoeK: Like you I am always looking out for new/different solutions. And I did try the Active Ultra Plus's out. The China label didn't bother me.

As for the diaper, they are quite absorbent. And they can be left on for quite some time.

My problem with them is the tape fasteners. It's not really a tape; but a velcro like tab. And there is a part that can come apart! Once it tears, it makes the diaper unusable (at least for me).

It seems that just a little activity can cause the velcro tape to tear. Which is why I will not try them for night time use. Too risky.

I have never posted to this forum but read it often. Saw this topic come up and thought I'd chime in.

I had purchased a bag of these several months ago and initially they seemed like an awesome product. I loved the fact that they had velcro tabs but still had the plastic backing. I am NOT a fan of the cloth like backings at all.

Well, first bag went well so I bought a case. Not so well. Put briefly, overall defect ratio was about 17%. Everything from tabs that ripped off the back wings of the diaper while putting on, to uneven amounts of polymer to the velcro tabs that came apart as mentioned previously....to the dreaded pinholes in the backing. These are not consistent flaws. I'd wear several that performed GREAT and then flood one and bam! There was the telltale wet spot on my pants from the pinhole!

The best thing I can say about them is their odor control is better than most, but not perfect. Again, this varied from diaper to diaper.

In my opinion, $66 to $80 per case is too high. I'm not willing to "take a chance" for that price. I personally think they have a bit of work to do on quality control.

Just my $0.02

I think if you really check out all the diaper makers, most of them are probably in China or some where over in that part of the world. Abena is one of the few that is good and isn't made there.

As for the diaper in this thread, I bought 5 cases back in June and only had one diaper that I ripped apart while putting it on. The only time I had any problems with the tapes is if I undid them more than a couple of times or after wearing them for 10-12hrs. I never had any to leak on me or have any other problems while wearing. I am very active in my work and other activities so these did work really good for me at least. I do agree that the odor control was much better with these than I have found with other brands.

For those that know me, the cheap-scape I am, wonder why did I buy 5 cases? Well I got 25% off my first order and at the time had the extra money so it was like buying 4 cases and getting one free.
