Ive been back in the hospital. I went in on Christmas eve day and just got home this evening. I was having horrific spasms from the foley catheter and it threw my body totally out of whack. It triggered a bad CRPS flare up. I also had pneumonia. Urology had moved my appointment to FEBRUARY. I said no way am I going to have this in me that long. I saw the resident urologist this afternoon and he and my doc agreed to expedite surgery for a SPC. The resident also gave me plugs that I can use instead of having a bag. Its making things much more manageable. I am taking oxybutin 3 times a day for the spasms and they added another med but my insurance is requiring a prior auth so I have to wait on that one.

I spent the holiday alone in the hospital. I slept through most of it. Im trying to remain positive as much as I can.

I wish there were some better way to support you than this site and my computer. I hope the SPC will work for you. There is never a good time to be helpless, in pain, and alone, and the holidays make it worse. Keep posting and we'll respond as best we can.
