My wife and I both have bladder issues, and there is only one bathroom in our apartment. Consequently, we often fought over who gets to use the bathroom. An often heard phrase is "I hope you don't have to use the bathroom because I have to pee" Finally i got tired of it and bought a bedside commode and a male urinal and a unisex urinal. I know, it seems odd for people with some semblance of control and no physical limitations, but somethings gotta give here.

This reads like a worthy compromise. Incontinence forces numerous compromises on all of us. This simply illustrates one of them. Kudos.

I am the incontinent one in our apartment. I generally allow my wife to have priority since (in her words) I "have protection". However, if she knows I am struggling to hold back a BM, she lets me go first.

More often than not, she's already in the bathroom when I start to urge, and "oh well". Thankfully that has not yet resulted in my F-IC over bathroom conflict (however, I have used sitting down to help suppress the BM while waiting).

Interesting you say that Wayne, because bowel emergencies are the exact reason why I bought the commode. If I have to pee when she is on the toilet, I can just pee int he bathtubp and rinse it down the drain.. or put on a diaper. But if i have to poop.. thats a bit harder to clean up from the bathtub and bit harder to clean up from pooping in a diaper.. I paid a pretty penny (120 smackaroos!) for the commode and two urinals, but its way cheaper than another actual toilet

We're in an apartment, so installing a commode is not an option. And so far at least, I can suppress a BM (with some difficulty) by sitting in a chair.

It sounds like you have your situation handled!

Its not hooked up to plumbing so no instillation needed. I think you misunderstand. This is not a permanent fixture like a standard toilet. It is portable commode that is a glorified chamber pot with four legs to support it. After use you would empty in into a toilet and rinse it out. Even without plumbing, it still cost 78 dollars. I currently have it in my office/diaper storage area.

Ok, right. I think I had confused that with a bidet.
