Site Security "https" Certificate

Sun Jan 08, 2023 1:03 am

The security warning is coming up every time I click a link to this site or a reference inside the site. Since my first registration to the ISC well over 10 years ago I have appreciated the quality of the site's information and forum space. The owner of the site has never asked for any support.
The site has been well moderated and maintained. Setting up the credentials for https registration will take technical expertise, effort and have a co$t associated with it. I am certainly willing to contribute. At times the support and information I have received has been priceless.
To moderator: Perhaps this discussion should be broken out into a separate topic heading?

The cert has expired, as of Jan 5, and needs to be renewed. These must be updated every 90 days (or less).

The problem is that this site is http only, and does not use https (so there is no cert involved). That requires bigger changes.

I would be happy to help the admins (schoppy?) to get this site to running properly on https. It's just a few minor tweaks, then an automated script to keep the certificates up to date. My time is free, and the certificate provider is also free. (letsencrypt.org)

Correction: It was https until a little while ago. I've always accessed through https and never got the error until the certificate expired.

It's nice to see that the https access is working again. My thanks to all involved!
