I finally told my friends that I have incontinence beyond the oopsies that we all experience from time to time.
I told them that I have urge incontinence and the analogy that I used is its like trying to keep a sneeze in - you can hold it back for so long before it decides to burst and there is nothing you can do about it.
Everyone started laughing!!
It also prompted my friend's aunt to open up.
She has MS and she describes her overflow incontinence as as a faucet that you can't turn off.
I love stories and humor! Its the best medicine

Good for you! A select few of my friends and family know and everyone has been cool about it. My wife and I make jokes about it, and the humor makes it so much easier. Once in a while she makes a remark as a joke and then worries that I will be offended, but I know she is just trying to laugh with me. At our age (50s) many of our friends and family are dealing with various medical issues.

I bet you feel so much better having opened up to people they appear to have accepted it in good spirits which is great news for you and you have found a fellow sufferer too to share issues with!

Great to have good news!

Congratulations and kudos on your good work. As our society at large becomes more accepting, more of us will enjoy sharing in your success. Thank you.
