| Post subject: | Sphincter shutting mid stream |
I have recently found when fighting off repeated attempts by my bladder to empty itself, that when I do get to the toilet, my sphincter closes mid stream. It is very uncomfortable, like severe cramp. It only happens after fighting off urges. Sound familiar anyone. |

The bladder cramps you describe sound similar to mine. In my case, the cramps got worse over time, until they were hitting nearly once every hour; I was unable to void enough urine to prevent a spasm. My urologists did not take my complaints seriously until one of them witnessed a spasm with a scope while I was under anesthesia. He described what he saw as a "hissy fit"; there followed a series of Botox shots, followed by a sphincterotomy, twenty years ago, and repeated earlier this week. Good luck having yours treated successfully. |
