The bladder cramps you describe sound similar to mine. In my case, the cramps got worse over time, until they were hitting nearly once every hour; I was unable to void enough urine to prevent a spasm. My urologists did not take my complaints seriously until one of them witnessed a spasm with a scope while I was under anesthesia. He described what he saw as a "hissy fit"; there followed a series of Botox shots, followed by a sphincterotomy, twenty years ago, and repeated earlier this week.
