Update: On November 4, 2021, I had a cardiac catheterization exam. When the nurse could not insert the Foley into my prostate, I decided that messing with medical insurance and two drug company Botox suppliers was more than I wanted to continue doing. At my next urology appointment I canceled the Botox shot and requested a sphincterotomy/prostatectomy, which will happen whenever our local hospital is no longer overrun with Covid patients. The cardiac surgeon indicated that I would probably need surgery in the next year or two.

Thank you for your concern and support.

I'm really sorry this is happening for you right now, Patrick.

I'm always disappointed when a plan doesn't go right. Maybe the universe is planning on granting one of your other wishes.

For the world's sake: I think we all hope the heart stuff gets taken care of well.

CG,

I have a really mild case of Marfan's. Thousands of Marfan kids have this surgery every year; cardiac surgeons are familiar with Marfan, so I do not see this as threatening as perhaps others do. I have confidence in my medical/surgical care, and I intend to do the best I can, and keep my friends here informed. Thank you one and all for your concern and support.
