Hey all. So as you know I’m an amputee. Since my surgery I often get around on my knees. This is catching up with me. I have bursitis in both knees. It’s worse in the left. So much pain. It pops almost every time I move it and pain meds don’t do much. I am able to use my prosthetic a bit but it hurts to walk. My apartment is too small for my wheelchair. Diapering is a nightmare. I keep a bag of MegaMax by my bed. I see my orthopedic surgeon on Friday so I just have to sit tight until then. My sleep has also been off I woke up at 3am this morning. I’m so frustrated. Thanks for letting me vent.

That sounds very trying. Any kind of pain is unwelcome of course. My wife had a broken knee cap a few years back and the subsequent healing took a long time. That meant a lot of work for yours truly during her recovery. So I understand a little about hardship, though not nearly to your extent.

Here's hoping your sleep patterns return to normal and you get some pain relief. Sounds frustrating to not have enough room for your wheelchair.

Vent away, and expect our support. I do it often enough. Bursitis in your knees? That must be painful indeed. Can you call one of your physicians to order you an analgesic? Around here, tele-health appointments make such arrangements common.

Thanks Patrick. It’s been debilitating. I had bowel incontinence this morning where I was showering and had the urge to go and panicked and tried to get to the toilet. Part of me made it part of me didn’t. I was sliding around in water because i had started my shower and dropped my towel in the bathtub with water in it soaking my towel. I’m sure it was a sight. Ah the life of an incontinent amputee. I sure felt defeated though.

also I have an appointment with my orthopedic doctor tomorrow morning at 8:40am. I hope he can help me.
