I am curious if others have had issues with sitting in an office chair, wearing the various types of diapers. Or any less padded chair for that matter. As a newbie, I wear a pull-up for accident prevention and sit in front of a computer screen for long periods of time between bathroom visits. When I first started this journey, it felt like I was sitting on a rolled up towel because the center of the pull-up would bunch up between the legs. It doesn't take long before that gets very uncomfortable. I have since learned to reach down between my legs (when no one is looking) and flatten things out before I sit. At home I have tried to use a cushion like the those for the tail bone. But I don't find that entirely satisfactory. Has anyone tried a cushion designed for haemorrhoids? Or others that have an opening in the middle? These are rather pricey, so I am reluctant to just try one. Surely others have had some experience in this area. |

When my spinal pain made me sleep in a recliner rather than in bed, I began to develop 2 rows of sores on my rear. We tracked them down to the internal leak guards in the disposable I was wearing. Switching to cloth and PUL pants helped healing. It seems that you are in an office setting where the bulk of cloth wouldn't be practical. On our office chairs we both use those foam cushions with the cut out in back. Thei make sitting in thatever kind of diaper more comfortable. You didn't mention the brand of pull-up; would going to a less bulky one be an option? How about a tabbed diaper which is easier to change in cramped quarters? There are PUL pants with a narrower crotch, designed for disposables. Hope this helps some. Stan |

I’ve not really noticed this much when I have been wearing pull-ups at work. Perhaps it’s more to do with that particular brand? I try not to sit too long as sometimes that seems to inhibit my leakage so they when I stand up I get a sudden surge of urine as the pressure is released. |

Thanks for the comments. I am wearing the "Tena Men Protective Incontinence Underwear, Medium/Large", which I generally find quite comfortable and they often go on sale ($10 off). But the bulk between the legs can bunch up a little bit and the chair that I use tends to support me right there. Other chairs in the office take some pressure off of that point but the backs of those chairs are ghastly -- curving in where the spine should be supported. I tend to sit for long periods doing computer programming. Changing to a brief is not really an option yet -- my wife is still adjusting to the stigma of my change even though she has been otherwise supportive. |

Are your Tena men underwear the grey/white striped ones? |

Huh! Since December, I could have sworn that these were green striped with a dark green waist band! But I think yes, the grey/white is correct. I am colour bind in the dark green/brown spectrum (disqualifying me for an electrician's license apparently). I didn't find out about that until we took the kids to the Science Centre when they were young. I told my oldest daughter that they didn't put a pattern in the fourth chart, as a test. She said "No dad. Don't you see the <figure> in that chart?" Since then the eye doctor has confirmed it. So grey and white it is! |

Well I think they’re grey/white. I could be wrong. Either way they’re a kind of stylish design for a protective brief. I like them |

I think my better half likes them because they look a little less like a diaper and that they are called "protective underwear". But all of us here know what it really is... |

I use them sometimes too but pretty much one shot wonders. Attachment: Men's Tena.jpg [ 24.07 KiB | Viewed 7474 times ] Attachment: Men's Tena 2.jpg [ 18.47 KiB | Viewed 7474 times ] |

That seems to be accurate but it's all I need for now. I have no idea how fast this diabetic nerve damage thing progresses. So I will just have to wing it. |
