Hello,
First off: thanks for your website. I actually inadvertently stumbled across it a few months ago when I googled, "best strategy for side sleepers with incontinence", and read some excerpts from the forum. Fast forward to a couple days ago, as I was searching "support groups for incontinence" to see if such a thing existed, when I happened across this site again. Needless to say I found a vault full of information, and encouraging words from reading all of the member's posts.

I have been, of varying degrees, incontinent my whole life. Recently my condition has worsened to the point where I undeniably, needed to see a urologist again, and begin to wear protective undergarments, in addition to the bladder control medication I had been prescribed by my GP for the last several years. I had been to a specialist twice in my life, had a number of invasive tests, bladder diaries, the works, only to be told they can't "see" anything, and that I might respond to "just holding it", and "training my bladder". Yeah.... that's not an option for me anymore at this point. I finally get to see a new Urologist this week, and I am hopeful about it. Without an updated diagnosis from a doctor, I'm pretty sure I have UI, in addition to my previously diagnosed OAB. It's been a comforting, and enlightening experience to read some folk's similar experiences in here, and see that they've been able to get answers and/or deal with their symptoms. This has been extremely emotional for me, more than before, now that my body has been more noticeably failing me.

Other interesting news about me is: I'm 38, proud father of 3, and work as an engineer.

I have lots of questions, and have found tons of answers here. I also appreciate the chance to share, and "vent" as I have seen others do. It's humbling, disheartening, but also encouraging to read about some of your struggles. I'm glad there is a resounding theme of positivity, and overcoming here. Bless each and every one of you.

Again, thanks for what you do here with creating a safe place for folks with these particular conditions to share. It has already helped me immensely.

Kind regards,
J.W.

Welcome to our leaky little corner of the web. Your tale of going from doctor to doctor is common among us. Good luck getting this sorted out. Many of us here, myself included, live in diapers, take them as our normal underwear, and get on with life. Keep us informed about your progress.

Hi CityGardener and welcome. I hope you find it useful. Seeing you refer to your GP i assume you are in the United Kingdom? I'm also in the UK.

Thanks Craig, actually I'm in the US.

Thanks for the warm welcome Patrick.

Yes, doctor to doctor is accurate. Once at the age of 12, and again at 19. Hopeful, this time for "something".

And yes, I am becoming a bit of a diaper veteran, as of recently. Basically a 24/7 thing now, and I think I'm finally through the "testing" phase. I'm adjusting to my "new normal" in that regard, but yes, mentally has been exhausting. My wife has been amazing, but I've still kind of been on my own with this aspect of my life. Glad I stumbled along this site.

Thanks again!!! :D

Welcome CG,
Glad you found our wet corner of the interwebs. No question or rant is out of bounds with us, as long as you are truly IC. (there are occasional battles with the AB crowd) We are here to listen, offer encouragement and advice.

As for me, I first started having IC problems when I was in my early 40s. Two kids (both in college and still living at home- it's a pandemic world), and I am also an engineer. My wife is now having her own IC issues, but for her, it's pads while I need diapers. Oddly enough for both of us, it's strictly a daytime thing. Getting up at night hasn't been a problem for either of us. Yet...

Thanks Tom!! It's a pleasure to meet you. This group has been a huge support to me even before i got had the guts to join and post. I can verify my IC too. I'd show you my identification but it is hanging up to dry at the moment. Also,(kind of funny) I didn't really know what the ABDL thing was before seeing it referenced here, and noticing a section on Northshore's website catering to that group. I'd have been fine if I wasn't aware of how extensive that culture was, but that's all the further i shall comment on that.

Like I said above, i have pretty much had bladder issues my entire life. 2008 was around the first time i recall leaking a full on "squirt" while I was at work. Just this past year or so it's gotten bad enough that i had to start wearing something. Up until then I would just walk around with occasional my damp boxer shorts. That occasional turned to frequent, and then daily, somewhere in there, then it was clear to me at some point I needed to do something about it. I could share my wacky adventures of "discovering adults incontinence supplies", but i'm sure everyone has a good story about that. I am now happy to say i'm covered. I flood a fair amount so I am now in some Abena pull-ons during the day, and a full scale tape-up at night with a booster. Getting the hang of things I think. I owe much of that self care knowledge to this site.

My incontinence issues have progressed pretty rapidly in the last several months and has been pretty concerning to me. After being put on a very long backlog for the Urologist, due to Covid, I finally have appointment in a few days. I do have a bit of anxiety about it, however. I would like some confirmation of these symptoms, but I really don't know what will mean. What's happening inside my body is serious, and it might be scary if this was all brand new to me. Also, if it ends like the last time I was seen by a Urologist, (which was absolutely nothing) then i am condemned back to quiet suffering again, with no diagnosis. The whole thing has made me hyper-aware of how fragile, and unpredictable the body can be. I won't go further down that road until i get more answers.

Anyhow, I'm glad to be here. It's been therapeutic to read what you all have shared with your personal experiences, and it's been nice to sharing my side too. Haven't really done that. Who am I supposed to talk to beside my wife or the doctor about this junk? These are not great watercooler, or dinner chats.

Much apprieciated all.
J.W.

Hi all! I haven’t posted here in awhile but I stay current on all new posts. I read this thread and first of all I want to add my welcome to all who choose to share their personal life stories here. Though I feel like we need to make everyone feel comfortable here, especially the newbies, I agree that fantasy posts have little to no value to most I wonder if maybe we can offer new members the benefit of doubt that they honestly have issues with incontinence as we all do. I’m pretty sure that over a short period of time, those that are looking for a sexual high or anything other than an honest and friendly conversation will be obvious in short order.
Thank you and let me simply add that I personally enjoy this site and it has been very helpful on ‘many’ occasions. Other than that, I’m good, and I hope the same for all of you.

For the record: I do feel very welcomed in here so far. I didn't read Tom's comment as anything other than, (heads up, this is a thing that happens here, from time to time.) And didn't really see it as him "guarding the door", so to speak. My follow up comment wasn't for affirmation, it was my chance to share more about my situation, in good company. All good here. And really, I really do appreciate you being sensitive to people's feelings, especially the new one's.

So, I'll be around. Reading, learning, coping, probably asking questions. Still adjusting with my issues, but it's been less of a dark place for me since I've been in here. Very thankful for all the dialog.

Kind regards,
JW
