CPPS/chronic prostatitis

Mon Jun 22, 2020 10:13 pm

So I am 6 months into what is believed to be CPPS/chronic prostatitis. I've tried 4 rounds of antibiotics, flomax and now taking rapaflo. I am due for pelvic physical therapy so we are hoping that helps. At this point, I am needing diapers each night and in pull-ups or diapers 24/7 during the day. Overall, the urge incontinence seems to be getting worse or at least not getting better. Can folks share their experience with his diagnosis? Does it ever get better or am I in for a lifetime of incontinence and diapers? It's quite frustrating to say the least.

I think many people do well with pelvic therapy but some people like me have settled with wearing diapers for the rest of our lives.

I was diagnosed with chronic prostatitis causing OAB/urgency and pain that makes holding in my urine quite painful. After a series of conventional treatments including antibiotics and pelvic floor physical therapy, nothing worked. You can also try acupuncture. It worked well for several years but stopped working and I had to escalate my protection from pads to diapers.

Wish you the best

Talk to your doctor about prostate massage as a possible therapy.
