If my Pt didn't know I'm incontinent she does now. My pul pants slipped down and my diaper was showing.

It’s been that kind of day.

If you’re wearing diapers due to legitimate medical reasons, which obviously you are, you shouldn’t worry about what anyone thinks or says. We all want to blend into society as much as we can, for any number of reasons, but if you do your reasonable best to blend and something goes south (so to speak), let it go!
You must have confidence and like yourself enough to believe that you are who God made you. That’s enough to be proud of.

Thanks Ellyn. It was just a horrible day. My diaper completely failed (thank god I had just walked in the door so I was at home). I was going to use a pull up to go to my appointment because I was only going to be gone about an hour and hadn’t had much to drink so I thought I could swing it. Then the only one I had ripped and I couldn’t wear it. Then the shirt I was gonna wear was too small (it shrunk in the wash). My computer overheated. My dinner of pizza was so bad I had to call to get a refund. Then I got food poisoning from it. It’s one of those days where you should’ve just stayed in bed that morning.

Although I regretted reading about your difficult day (and I love pizza; the thought that it could cause food poisoning horrifies me), incontinence is rapidly opening the closet door. Your physical therapist has undoubtedly dealt with many incontinent patients before. All medical professionals have. Thanks for sharing and keep us informed.

yeah.. i can see that would be bothersome. I just straight up told the folks who do my PT
what was up ..tried the pullup for exactly 1 visit. quality one but does not provide the coverage needed.

I received a text on the way home, that our neighbor had received two big boxes with my name on them. I am back living with my dad and Stepmom, until I can financially get back out on my own. I went through a bad divorce and my job changed, to where I am making less than half of what I was making. All this happened at the same time. The packages are my Tranquility SmartCore Diapers from the VA. The VA recently messed up, and tried to send all my prescriptions to my physical address, and not my mailing address. This is the first time this has happened and I found out their mistake from my Stepmom. She had received some of my prescription medications in her P.O. Box. Well, the boxes are always covered in black plastic trash bag like material. When I went next door to get the packages, there wasn’t any black plastic on the boxes and one had been opened. So my neighbors now know I wear diapers. It’s embarrassing and aggravating, but it is what it is.

Incon,
Your neighbors opened your package without checking the name and address on it? They are the ones who should be embarrassed. We frequently get mail that should have gone to our neighbors; I simply return it to them. That should have happened here. I hope that their chagrin will lead to greater acceptance of our physical disability.

Patrick, I could understand that reasoning as well. It didn’t help that I was in my military uniform, picking them up. I’m in the military and waiting on my LOD investigation to be finished. I do work as a federal technician in the military and I am always wearing. The only people who know I wear besides family, is my girlfriend and a couple of people in my unit, that has to know. I don’t like people knowing. What’s odd, is that if I go somewhere and my shirt comes up a little bit or for whatever reason, someone notices, I don’t really care. I know that probably sounds weird. I appreciate your advice.
