Running or jogging specifically. Spring is coming. Time to lose some weight and running is probably my best bet at helping me lose weight. (Along with a better diet of course.) I am finding that diapers are not the most comfortable thing to wear while jogging. But some brands have to be better than others. Anyone care to share some insight on this topic?
Thanks...

I am not sure what the extent of your issues are but for me I am very active currently I find using pull on protection works best for when exercising. However any advice anyone has would be appreciated from me to because I haven't found an idel way to deal with this when exercising

Thanks for the reply. Urine only. And I range from minor dribbling to squirting to spasams that cause me to nearly empty my bladder. I am hoping that if I lose a few pounds, (20) it will help my situation. But in the meantime I find running while wearing diapers to not be exactally comfortable. So, what types are better than others for exercise. I am currently using Prevail tape on diapers.

I have used many different brands to varying success, but one thing that helped a great deal was lathering the diaper area with Vaseline, particularly the groin area where the diaper ends, and also putting some on the diaper itself. This helped me a great deal with the chafing and avoided blood blisters in the groin from the diaper’s moisture. After a run, my sweat would make the diaper swell almost as much as a full void, so even if you don’t have a bladder spasm, your diaper will be absorbing.

I don't jog, but when I'm doing pretty strenuous yard work I like to wear a good quality pull-up like the Abena Abri-Flex with a light weight compression pant or boxer brief over it. This combo greatly reduces chafing and keeps everything in place.

Hi ScottK

I am male and wear Attends Active Slip M10 when jogging & cycling. I also wear a Skort I know this sounds a bit odd but the Lycra Shorts hold the slip in place to solve the chafing issue and the Skirt part is great to preserve modisty and hide any swelling of the slip. One thing to note hygiene is important and showering as soon as possible is important.

Hope this is of some use.

Hello! I have become pretty active recently, and have lost almost 25 pounds this year. I had gained weight, in part, because my prostatitis-related incontinence worsened during 2016 and 2017. For a while, I had switched to wearing fitted briefs. In hindsight, however, I think I was overreacting. My symptoms are manageable with pull-ups as long as I commit to following a timed voiding regimen. I have found that the Depend Real Fit works very well while exercising. For example, I have not had any chafing issues. My one complaint is the sweat. It seems like the material Depend uses could be better at wicking than it is. When I next speak with a doctor, I plan to seek his advice about switching to an external catheter. That, I think, would make exercising even easier. Please correct me if your experience suggests otherwise!

Your experience might be different from mine, but I have found that an external catheter is more problematic than a diaper, especially when exercising. The bag containing urine sloshes with every step and is vulnerable to rupturing if you bump it hard against something.
