Hi everybody I got into the VA today for my first appointment it went really good including her prescribing diapers, depend male guards and Barrier cream.

Evidently her idea of a diaper Doubler was the depend guards as well as the great diapers of Protection Plus at they were prescribed according to my record

My question is how long will it take to VA to fill the order and get them delivered to me and how do I change the male guards to actual doublers cuz we all know how those work.

Steve, it will be pretty quick. My PCM at one time had prescribed the guards as a booster. You might have to go through the process of How many items do I have to go through to find the one that works for me.

They will be delivered by UPS. Do you have an UPS My Choice account? It is free to get notifications when packages are coming and delivered. Sometimes you can divert a delivery to an UPS store, if restrictions haven't been assigned by the shipper. FedEx has something similar.

Yea i have the UPS and Fedex accts for tracking as i do a lot of online shopping

LOL i tried to get better stuff from the getgo but they think i wants BRIEF,PROTECTION PLUS X-LARGE

So i am sure in a week I email the Dr and tell them how bad they leak or and how its cutting into my quality of life :) and begin the whole process of for the next year since nothing moves fast

I've actually had pretty good luck using Guard Pads as diaper doublers. I do cut a few slits into the backing to allow urine to flow through but I find they absorb quite a bit and are much easier to change out quickly than a diaper or a long booster pad. Especially true if you don't remove the backing from the adhesive strip. I can't say anything about the diapers they prescribed as I've never tried them but unfortunately they do sound like lower quality basic diapers. I think they may turn out to be your biggest problem, not the pads. As we all know a certain level of protection doesn't work well for everyone, but using the Guard Pads has worked well for my level of incontinence. I hope you can eventually get them to prescribe the right level of protection for you, good luck!
