i am so frustrated with my care team at the VA
They sent me huge amount of supplies 200 pullups 200 guards 200 diapers
I didn't want the pull-ups or guards the Dr had copies of my current prescriptions she could have found the products or equivalents that i was using
So i sent them a letter telling them i was not satisfied and they basically said i could take it or leave it..
First message i sent them 2 weeks ago
Hi Dr. ******,
I got my medical supplies for this month and wanted to thank you for taking such great care of my needs. Unfortunately, I am having some issues with the provided supplies… The Kendal Briefs are leaking as I am a side sleeper so they are soaking my new mattress at night. The Depend guards do not seem to work as a doubler either as they seem to leak worse with them in. During the day if I am at home and able to change every hour they are ok, unless I have an IBS-D episode then I have large uncontrol BM’s and have had serious leakage. In the meantime, I am wondering if I could get some Medline Industries, Inc’s Sofnit Underpads 34x36 as all the underpads I own have been washed so many times that they are falling apart. I could also use some Disposable Adult washcloths.
As far as next months’ order of supplies I need to discontinue the 10340802 BRIEF, PROTECTION PLUS X-LARGE #MSC33600 & 10337098 INCONT LINER DEPEND GUARDS.
I would also like to see about getting a more absorbent brief something like Tranquility ATN Xl Catalog number 2187, Tranquility Smartcore Brief X-Large Catalog number 2134, or MoliCare Premium Soft Breathable Brief 59" - 68" X-Large 169948 Or WH169948. I also would like to see about getting a Barrier free doubler instead of the of the depends would work better for the daytime something like the Dignity Extra Long Disposable Pad 3-1/2" x 15" Catalog Number 40052 or HU40052 and a contoured doubler for night time, like the Dignity Doubler X-Large Pad 13" x 24" Catalog # 30058 or HU30058 or tranquility Topliner Booster Super Plus Contour 32" x 14" Catalog 3097 “designed for Xl briefs.”
Thank

Hi Steven, I am sorry to hear that supplies didn't help you . I informed MD shortt and requested to Discontinue the old supplies for next month since they are not good. I requested a Telephone appointment with RN care coordinator to discuss your needs in terms of supplies , expect a phone call from RN in terms of supplies issue today or tommrrow.
sincerely,
Steven-
Hi Steven, I thought carol RN already has spoken to you in regards to this as she is not here this week, she is on vacation as well as MD shortt for 1 week, as per my conversation with coral , she recommends for you to f/U with your Md in community and get supplies through Medicaid , as VA has only those supplies that MD shortt has ordered already for you, The list you provide under med-surg are only for inpatient per coral.
sincerely,

The only supplies available from The VA for incontinence are briefs with tabs, pull up briefs, incontinence liner and disposable chux pads. It looks like these have been ordered for you and are not working well.
A couple of options are available:
1. Dr. Shortt recommends trying to modify the brief-you can add the incontinence liner to the brief for more absorption or add a chuxs pad.
2. Use your Medicaid insurance to purchase supplies outside of The VA.
