Right now I am dealing with some tough issues from my past.
As a part of this process, my incontinence has intensified.
Anyone else who notice that mental issues influence the continence function?

Optimist,

High levels of stress are known to exacerbate incontinence. You are not alone in this. I have noticed that my fecal incontinence particularly worsens when I feel stressed. :(

Yes. Past or present incidents of stress or upset do make incontinence worse. Just how it goes.

I guess stress, over and above that which incontinence causes, is a common human condition. But I am proud to be a survivor. I am proud of the skill with which I manage my life stresses. I am far from perfect, as you will understand if you question my family. But I do work hard to manage my situation so as to cause minimum stress for folks around me. And, as everyone here knows, incontinence management is hard work indeed. Being able to vent here is integral to my management and success, and I am thankful.

Ain't that the truth. And I'm stressed A LOT.
