Hello evryone
Few weeks ago my appendix burst and had an emergancy surgery to remove it
It didn't go entirely well but important thing is I survived
It has been hard to start using the phone again but I decided I needed to get some outside information other than my family friends or doctor

Before this incident I had a problem with feeling meaning that it was becoming harder and harder to tell if and when I'm having a bowel accident and while my sensation down there wasn't great to being with I can no longer tell when I personally
After the surgery while recovering until now I haven't been able to tell if I had an accident and i would only notice maybe several minutes after which is a little worried
The doctor doesn't seem to think it is anything to worry about due to the fact that I already had problems with this
Does anyone have tips to deal with this kind of situation? Any products to help?

I was glad to read that you survived a burst appendix. That can be lethal; that you are still with us is a victory to be celebrated. Your doctors seem equally glad that you survived; compared to that, no wonder that they dismiss your worsening incontinence. Have you contacted a neurologist? Although they may not offer a cure, surely they could give you an explanation for your diminished sensation.

Again, welcome back.

Hi Miahere

Glad you are recovering from your burst apendix, I agree with Patric you should see your urologist to see if he can shed some light on your bowel sensation issue.

Hi Mia. I just wanted to echo what Patrick said about seeing a neurologist. The have ways to check for perineal numbness that may be an answer to your question. I see neurologists at the Mayo Clinic for my neuropathy. They performed this test. It's non-invasive. They may not have a solution, but could possibly give you an answer and put your mind at ease.

I will ask on it first thing as it is quite disturbing to myself to feel as if the accidents never happened all of a sudden to find the diaper wet and full is not a nice experience especially now because I couldn't tell even one bm or wetting
