I have finally convinced several urologists of my choice to have my prostate removed. After multiple tests and procedures, I want it over with. So, on April 11 I will have the surgery. My urologist says my incontinence will probably be worse since my bladder is a mess...his words. I retain a great deal due to having a very large bladder with diverticulum. I hope I'm making the right decision. |

I wish you the best of luck with the prostate surgery. At some point, will you also need to have the diverticulum corrected? |

Nothing has been discussed about the diverticulum. I'm thinking/hoping that after the prostate surgery I will not be retaining as much...probably a wait and see issue. Thanks for the encouragement. |

Add my best wishes for an uneventful surgery, a speedy recovery, and a firm resolution about what to do with that diverticulum. Keep us informed. |

That's good to hear. I know first hand how difficult it can be to get a urologist to do what the tests all say they should anyways. |
