My bladder has always been quite weak however im finding it is getting worse as im getting older. Most of the time i cope ok with my weak bladder but when i drink it becomes a bigger problem. I can drink only 3 or 4 pints and this can make me wet the bed. I have a waterproof mattress protector from Asda but after a few washes it is starting to leak through to the mattress. I have bought adult nappy pants from Tena, these are fine but i find myself convincing myself i dont need them after i have had alcohol, i wake up to find i did need them.

Im going on holiday for 2 weeks to Thailand with my partner, not drinking is not an option, what other protection should i take? Do hotels cater for adults who wet the bed or should i take my own protection sheet? I was going to take my nappy pants as well. Is there anything else i should consider? I dont want to wear a nappy in public but i can leak a little when im sitting drinking. I know drinking makes my problem worse but i dont intend to stop drinking.

At home I wear washables. When I travel I wear high end disposables, such as Abena, Molicare, and Dry 24/7, with an overpant such as DuraTex. Like you, I too experience increased leakage when I consume alcohol, which increases the value of reliable protection. Enjoy your trip, and report back when you return.

since you are traveling over seas... from my experience flying you could check separate bag as medical supplies and that should be a free luggage check items or could take enough diapers for a few days and source local diapers but that could be a interesting journey. pretty sure any pharmacy or supermarket has diapers just not sure of the quality might so some research.

As far as the Hotel... depending on the quality of the hotel they might be able to have a mattress protector available to use or underpads i typically take 2 underpads with me when we travel plus one more for the van seat

Patrick thanks for your reply. I have not heard of the brand you mentioned. Im new to shopping for these kind of products and Tena is what seems to be the most popular. I was wanting to try there pull up pants for men but the sizing seems a bit large for my 34" waste. SO im stuck with the unisex ones for now, i dont know if the male only ones will be better or not.

Specialdad thanks for your reply. I have a 30kg allowance for my suitcase and so im hoping that will be enough to carry what i need. I asked the hotel by email and they suggest taking my own mattress protector and so i have ordered one from AMazon which is super king size in the uk. I bought some male tena pads to try and more pull up unisex pants from tena.

depending upon the airline you are traveling might talk to the special needs coordinator with them by doing a search ... airline name and special needs.. and you might come across something like this sample statement below i know all US Air line are required by federal law here so might be worth a check

specialdad - many thanks for your reply. I would like to think that i will not have any problem staying within my allowance. Im too late to get a letter from the doctor now anyway but its good to know for future trips. Budget airlines like Ryanair only have a 10kg cabin bag allowance and so that is an occasion that i think a doctors letter would definitely come in handy.

What are the better pull up pants for men, are Tena unisex pants considered good?
