Post subject:  Issue with leaks.
I have been having leak issues with dry24/7. I think this is do to diapering while lying down and not getting the tapes right but the thing is that I am using the Dry 24/7 and a booster. I have leaked out the back, over the top and today out the crotch... Never had this problem before, but I did get a new mattress that is memory foam and I sink into in quit a bit. I am thinking of trying using my old lean against the wall trick and seeing if it works better. If not then I have no clue what is going on... The dry 24/7 should hold enough to get me though the night but this is the fourth time this week that wet out so I am frustrated..

Suggestions welcome..

I also leaked with a pair of pul pants on so..

For what it's worth, the Dry 24/7 has always leaked for me. Standing up, lying down, sitting, you name it. It was the first premium diaper I tried when I first started having problems, and since it came so highly regarded I thought it had to be the best. At first I thought it may be the absorption rate wasn't fast enough to pick up a decent-sized flood. But almost each time I used one it leaked well before the diaper reached anywhere near capacity, regardless of how frequently I went. Then I read a comment from Brian saying that the cut of diapers vary between vendors, and sometimes it just doesn't fit some people. So I tried a few others: Abena, Seni, A+... All very capable diapers that I had better results with, but passed on for one reason or another. In the NorthShore Supreme, I finally found one that works very well for me and can handle the floods and dribbles, has a large capacity, and can stand up to walking around for a decent amount of time. My suggestion it to try other brands until you find one that works for you.

My thing is that I have never had a issue with them. I changed the boosters that I am using and I would agree with the absorption rate... It seems like if i done fold them up at first that every thing runs all the way to the back so... It might be time for me to try some new stuff.

There is nothing wrong with the ConfiDry 24/7. It is a great diaper and is my personal choice. :D However, as MikeinSF has said, any diaper absolutely must fit your personal anatomy well. Otherwise, all the high absorbency and other features are wasted.

That being said, I get a much better fit, and fewer leaks, by taping the Dry 24/7 while standing up. IMHO a snugger fit is necessary for night wear, particularly if you sleep on your side, as I do.

The next issue is the booster. I also use boosters (NorthShore Care) in my Dry 24/7 and have very few leaks. However, please do note a couple of things. 1) it is necessary to choose a booster that leaves room for "gutter" space on either side of the booster in order for the urine to run off rather than over the internal standing leak guards. And 2) if the booster, once swollen with urine is as high as, or higher than, the internal leak guards, you are much more likely to leak the next time that you flood.

A third point is that no disposable can be 100% effective for side sleepers. :( That is just the way it is. Diapers do not have enough absorbent matting on the sides where the pee drains when sleeping on your side.

So, although the Dry 24/7 is as good a diaper as you can get for night use, it cannot be perfect. Wearing plastic or PUL pants over your diaper is a must, especially for side sleepers or anyone who encounters leaks at night.

Finally, as I hate waking up in a wet bed, I changed over to cloth diapers at night, as have many here in this forum. Since I changed completely to cloth prefolds at night I have leaks on less than 1% of the nights - not bad. :D

I find the Dry 24/7s work great for me at night if I point down and make sure the diaper is a snug fit (i use duct tape to help keep the diaper snug. so far they have worked the best for me at night but I have switched to the Forsite diaper for my daytime use as its a bit more absorbent.

being a side sleeper is tough to find a diposable diaper that works..

I don't exactly side sleep but I've had leaks before but using a booster solved it most of the time, and as the others started before there has to be a good fit, I use the small confidry 24/7.
Cloth diapers could be a great use for me but because i have a bowel accident in the night I can't wake up to a bowel filled cloth diaper because cleaning and laundering the cloth diaper would be a big hassle.

I usually sleep on my back because my bowel accidents are really big and to avoid it causing any UTI I don't sleep on my front. But that could be a solution, more of the front where the absorbance material is more will catch any accident, but if you naturally side sleep then I'm not really sure what the solution would be.

Well you did say they worked good for you before, but with your new bed and lying down to change, you now get leak problems. To me, the problem seems straight forward that it's because of your bed.

When changing try making sure the back sides of the diaper are pulled out tight. If they are bunched up when you're laying on them it would seem like you're taping them on tight, but the first time you move those bunched up areas will make the diaper fit loose.

You might also want to try standing up after you change. Double check the legs and waist bands are still snug. If not then you'll need to readjust the tapes. If this keeps happening then you may need to switch to changing while standing.

As for side sleeping, I've mentioned this before that I use a baby diaper booster cupped over my member. This seems to slow down my flooding and redirect my pee back to the center of my confidry diaper. With, both combined I do not leak overnight.

Well changed while standing last night and got a lot better fit and no leaks. Like I said, the only a few things changed and I knew the fixing it would mean looking at what was different.

I'm not a huge fan of Dry 24/7. I think they're pretty much ABDL novelty diapers pretending to be incontinence diapers.

They leak like a sieve for me as well. I rarely have leaks with Abena L4 despite having a much lower claimed ISO absorbency. It might just be that they fit me better.

I find the Dry 24/7 to be "over built". Too much plastic that's too thick. I think the excessive leg gathers kind of work their way into the inside of the diaper and create a path for urine to escape. The tapes are also lousy in my opinion and often slip.

I don't know, it's been better for me than the abena m4 I used,
The abena has dropped in quality a lot, I don't know if it's just me but I've had a considerable amount of leaks with the abena, I don't side sleep but it just didn't hold well.
It still did well with bowel containment though....
Though what you say is true, the plastic does seem to be noisy and the tapes aren't great, but then I don't remove the tapes unless I need a change so it is fine.
