ive tried standing on one foot propped up against the wall and laying down.
ive been able to eventually get one on but only after several ripped diapers and
frustration. called my pca this morning (who should be here any time now) and told her
that i needed my diaper changed. she didnt seem shocked or anything so we shall see how it goes.

That's really unfortunate, but getting a diaper change is no big deal. I actually haven't had anyone else change me ever, but I'm sure I will one day. Hope it goes well.

Like hotdogg said, getting changed isn't really that big of a deal. Personally, I try to avoid it and take care of my own needs. It helps me retain some independence. But if you need it so you don't hurt yourself, then ask. I had surgery a couple years ago and had to have assistance because it was too painful to move. Both from my wife and medical staff. They did not appear to be bothered. They do it all the time. Sometimes it's better to ask for help. That is why they are there.

I worked as an RN for many years and have helped many adults with a diaper change. It is a non event to a person in the medical field, so do not let it stress you if you need help.

Also the other day my insurance company sent a nurse to my home to do a health screening on me and my wife. I told him that I had to wear an adult diaper due to my urgency incontinence, he just went on with his exam. It was a non event.

What can I say but it is a non event. Do not let is stress you.

I hope this is only temporary for you until you're healed.

One possible option might be to pre-tape the diaper, then while in bed pull it on like a pullup.

She didn't seem phased by it but it was still embarrassing. I was grateful to have the help though because I've been struggling.
I got my cast off today and am now in a walking boot. I'm still non weight bearing for another week or more. With the boot I can stand a little and was just able to put a diaper on myself. The nurse insisted she do it for safety reasons and I guess I understand

I hope you learned it's better to get a little bit embarrassed and get a diaper change than struggle on your wn. If I'm ever in the situation where I need one, I hope I just get the help and let someone give me the diaper change.

Seconded. The risk of another injury to you right now is way too great, and could put you in the hospital long term. Then you would definitely have someone changing you like it or not. Better to be just a bit embarrassed than hurt more and embarrassed.

Plus, I have a feeling after a few changes you won't feel quite as embarrassed either.

My physical therapist was just here and she is having an occupational therapist come Monday to teach me how to diaper myself laying down in bed
