So when I first joined this group last year I asked about hiking long distance, and what would be best for someone that wears diapers for incontince. Now that my trip is coming up in sveral mounths I am reaching out again to see if there is any other advice to be heared. Right now Im taking my last free samples of Myrbetriq, which help out alot with day time issues to the point I dont need to wear some times, but after this mounth Ill be moving down the ladder to Oxybutynin which is most pron to side effects and not working as good as Mybetriq. In which I will most probably be going back to wearing more often. So if there is anyone out there who has had experince with this please reply.

For walking long distance in a diaper it helps immeasurably to also wear fixing or compression type pants. Also apply a small amount of vaseline on your thighs and rub it in just a little. Both combined will cut down on friction (and subsequent rashes) by a lot.

Also don't just dive into walking or hiking a lot for just a day or two. You will need to toughen up your skin before hand. I'd recommend you start right now with walking around the block while diapered. If your skin can handle that for a week or two, then double the distance. Do it again, and again, every week or two and you will be much better off when your trip comes up.

I miss backpacking. The problem, as I see it, isn't typical diapering problems and use, it's how to carry enough diapers in, and out, to survive the trip.

How long are you going to be out, and how many diapers do you anticipate needing for that period?

Sorry for not responding, right now im doing great actually. Taking oxybutynin right now and doing good with that, to the point im off of protection, but carry around some in case. Ill be on the trail for about 5 months hitting a town every 4-6 days with in that time.

My experience with oxybutynin was that it played havoc with fluid balance. I'm glad to read that it works for you; however, you do not want to be a four hour hike to the nearest settlement when your fluid balance goes haywire. Good luck. Enjoy yourself, and report back when you can.

Oh wow. There's backpacking, then there's backpacking way out of town for months on end. I can see now how diapers would be near impossible for you. It would be possible to handle diapers for a week, maybe. But you're really about to go extreme. That's just not something I'd ever be able to do. Hope it all works out for you though.
