Post subject:  The Rest of Your Life

This forum could use a distraction I think, a break from all the incon stuff weighing on us. Figured I'd start a thread to discuss what the rest of our lives are about. Our interests and hobbies, work, passion, family, whatever. I'll start.

I'm a 35 year old finance guy. I work in alternative investments at a bank in Boston. I am a dog lover, and have a rhodesian ridgeback. I like taking him for long walks or runs and hikes. I'm 3 years married to the best woman on the planet and we have a 16 month old son who is our world. I'm a big Pats and Bruins fan. I ride motorcycles and it's my great escape to freedom. My current bike is a Ducati Diavel. I don't get out on it as much as I'd like due to having a young family but when I can squeeze an hour or two in I do.

Sure, why not. I'm a 39 year old electrical design engineer. I'm married, enjoy casual gaming, and have two dogs. I used to love camping, but don't seem to do it much any more. I'm not into any sports or religious activities though.

35 year old father of one (soon to be two). I'm a doctoral candidate, studying natural resources ecology. I would say that I have no current hobbies, but I play Destiny on my Xbox like a crack addict.

I am a retired registered nurse (worked 35 years), married, December will be 49 years. I enjoy being retired and stay active. I seem to do more now than when I was working. I play the cello in a cello choir and play in a community orchestra. I like to do amateur astronomy, fish both fresh and salt water, I cook and home can food. I use a smoker to give a special flavor to various types of meat. I have one daughter, a great son-in-law and a 17 year old grandson. I am looking forward to traveling to South Carolina to observe the total Solar Eclipse next August. In November I will be 70 years old, and I and will not let my incontinence slow me down. I am starting to play duplicate bridge, to be really good will take a lot of practice and time.

This is a great topic.

Im single, I'll be 56 next Tuesday. :D Im a disabled vet and served 6 years in the Air Force until I got a medical retirement.
I used to be big into astronomy and ran a very large observatory for many years, until I got tired of all the BS that was happening and being blamed for things that was beyond my control.
Thats when I told the powers to be where to go and how to get there.
For the last ~10 years ive been toying with blacksmithing (when the weather co-operates that is hehe) and reclaiming different metals from old computers. I also really enjoy working in my back yard and my pond. My Koi have gone from being 2" when I first got them till now they are 18-20" now with lots of them being born over the years. Its been a real pleasure watching them grow up over the years. LOL they sure do recognize me when Im near them and they will even feed out of my hand. :D

I'm 57, married to a wonderful woman for 37 years, with two teenage kids. Two beagles and a GSD keep us company along with our daughters cat and a pond full of koi, comets, and shabunkins. We live in the woods west of Seattle and share our acreage with several families of deer, redtails, owls and a recurring nest of ospreys.

My career started out as in electronic engineering, then moved to software, with a stint in mechanical somewhere along the way. After years of starting companies, I'm working for a large international tech firm and loving my job. I travel a lot for work, about 3 weeks a month. When home, I do woodworking, stained glass, sailing and gardening.

Your house sounds like a place I would love to have.
The wildlife around there sounds wonderful to watch.
