so it looks like this is what my insurance company is covering.
the molicares were too expensive for them but apparently not the tranquility atns.
are these a decent diaper? my insurance company would only cover cloth backed and attends. and ive had terrible luck with both. are these any better?

thanks

Don't know your specific situation of course but I am light to moderate UIC with a left side ileostomy and these are what I wear when things are active at night. I use a PUL pair of pants just to make sure. I have also gone through many different type, my insurance paying for nothing. I also use the Premium Daytime as well. Check the ratings on these and you will find them highly rated.
I like this brand for many functional reasons and because they fit me well. They hold a full void if that happens, and are comfortable alone or with a pair of stretchy underwear, like Jockey and others make, to keep things in place. The bonus is that they fit my "under a buck per item" budget.
So from my perspective I say try a few. Remember that pull on types do not seal as well as cloth so PUL or plastic pants will be needed for side sleeping. I would also use a pad like a Chux, until you feel confident with your set up.
Hope that helps.

I agree with the answer above - the only problem I have experienced with ATNs is that at the end of a long day, or when you know it's time to change it, the elastics in the center of the diaper (or maybe it is the sealed edge) has usually separated from the inner elements, iow the padding and any more liquid will probably leak. These do hold a lot.but as with any product, they have limits. A very good product in my experience.

I use them and have had no trouble with them, they are a good diaper. Im totally incontinent and wear them 24/7. I use booster with them for extra protection do to my heavy output. All have limits but all and all I had had good luck with them. Amazon is a great place to purchase them in bulk.

I certainly wouldn't call ATN a premium diaper by any means. However, they do seem to perform decently enough so long as you don't mind having to change every 3 or so hours. Trying to go much longer than that (assuming you're staying hydrated) is only inviting leaks. Also as mentioned, they will start falling apart after this time too (also assuming you are active). I too would recommend also using the PUL pants to catch any leaks, and/or compression shorts to help compensate the diaper falling apart.

Overall, I wouldn't bother using them IF you have to pay for them as there are better performing diapers that will cost less overall. Given you're getting them for free then you will probably be ok using them. Just don't try pushing their capacity or how long you wear them.

yea ive heard they fall apart, which im pretty concerned about.
i change often anyway as i HATE being wet so im hoping they will do the trick.
do they fall apart even if they arent wet?
im hoping these will work because my insurance wont cover molicares like they said they would in the beginning. it was either tranquility atn or attends or cheap cloth.
and i cant afford to be buying them on my own (im on disability) so...

Out of those options, the atn is definitely the best. I wore the slimlines for a while and the atn is slightly thicker. I found the fit good and they didnt fall apart on me much at all unless they fill up or clump up. I have leaked a few times in them though.

If you change often, it will be a great fit

Seconded, yes they will fall apart even if not wet, and sweating in them makes it all worse. It will vary with how much you move around, but the padding will clump first, then the tapes and other parts of the diaper will start separating too. For me, this was in under 4 hours, though I am very active.

Changing often during the day will help greatly with these diapers, however I'd be concerned they will be enough for you at night. I already need to use a baby diaper booster myself (cheapest, and most effective out there for a booster), yet I'm also using confidry24/7 which is just enough. An ATN with booster certainly wouldn't make it for me, though I am a side sleeper.

Justej,
I don't care what diaper I wear, except at night I try not to wear them longer that 4 hours. I have every few rashes and infection because I stay dry. This was advice from my medical team to change my protection more often. Atn do just fine for me and the cost helps the bottom line. XP booster help with the capacity because of my high output. Of course there are better diaper out there but they work for me. I buy in bulk to also save money. good luck, remember to test them well before you buy a large amount. Everybody's bodies are different so they may work for you. Good luck --- Mike ---
