on the 16th, I'll be going in for my 3rd surgery on my legs. this time on my left one. you may remember, I broke my right leg in 4 places last January and that's when all my bladder problems started. it got extremely worse after surgery and I'm super nervous this time. I usually wear semi 24/7 (i have days that I'm daring and go out of the house without but usually regret it). but man. 3 surgeries in a year. I just needed to vent. I'll be wheelchair bound for at least a month. I'm having a torn tendon fixed, damaged ligaments in my ankle fixed, and will be having scope surgery in my joints. just kinda scared.... |

WOW I know knee surgeries can be a real pain in the ass, ive had a bunch myself. Will be thinking of you and hope you get better real soon. Schoppy |

thanks schoppy. I'm going to make sure I'm stocked up on 24/7's and may go to my parents place in Colorado for part of my recovery (if my doctor will let me fly). my parents know of my incontinence. they in fact help me with diapers because my insurance doesn't cover them and I'm on disability and can't afford them. (my mom calls them my "supplies" hahaha). so I don't have to worry about that. I work part time as a dog walker so I'll be out of work for at least 3 months.

Best wishes on a fast recovery. Not being able to get around sucks. I've had 6 surgeries over 20 years on my right ankle after a nearly terminal case of Young and Stupid, so I understand that fear well. If your Dr. allows it, try and get a knee scooter for getting around. They are awesome, and so much better than crutches or wheelchairs. Plus you'll be the envy of 10 year-olds everywhere you go. |

thanks. unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover those (thanks Medicare!) my case manager and I are going to check out a place that has free medical supplies and I'm hoping they will have one there. |

Good luck with the surgery and best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery afterward. I'm scheduled to have surgery in early June. So I fully appreciate your apprehension beforehand. |
