hi

I hope I am on the right site for some advice?
My boyfriend wears nappies 24/7 and has done for 3 month, he has no need for them and does it purely for choice,he has no intention of acting like a baby he says its just the comfort a nappy offers, while I am of the opinion that people should be allowed to live their life as they wish and nobody should judge I am interested to know of any long term effects that could arise. He only uses them to empty his bladder and has got a routine of cleanliness etc. I want him to get what he wants out of his lifestyle and are quite happy to support him.
I have looked all over the internet and all I can find a lots of contradiction, any help and advice from people with any real time advice would be very gratefully received.

Thanks in advance

Laura

Laura, your boyfriend is called a diaper lover. These are people who are inexplicably drawn (love) to wear and/or use them. Don't get this confused with a diaper fetish though, it isn't something we can just give up, nor is it some dirty sexually based act that should be kept hidden in a bedroom. Most likely he has been DL for a very long time, but has only recently been open with you about his love for diapers. This is something that I do believe should always be openly embraced. Of course, this isn't the main topic that is encouraged here, so please feel free to PM if you want more info on this.

Long term, if he tries to "hold it", even whole still diapered, and even for just a few hours in the day, he will not become incontinent. If he continues to wear and use them 24/7, he will slowly reverse potty train, usually in about a year or so. That is, he will slowly become incontinent, and absolutely will need them in addition to also wanting them. This is not permanent though, as it is only weakening the muscles to always stay relaxes. Restrengthening the muscle would be the same as potty training.

Becoming urinary incontinent absolutely will not make him bowel incontinent either- unless this also becomes his intent. Rashes will be a periodic problem, though oddly the more he wears and uses diapers the fewer rashes he will get in time.

There are a few other "side effects" to becoming fully urinary incontinent, but I'm not thinking of them at the moment. I'm sure the others here can chime in on this part though.

Maybe this is a conversation you two should have together with your couples therapist? Then consider the cost, because diapers aint cheap!
