When I do make it to the toilet to urinate I have a very long post-micturition dribble. I think this has lead to increased stress incontinence. I started with a post-micturition dribble before my incontinence set in. Do you think this can lead to stress incontinence over time from a weakened sphincter muscle? |

I'm not sure, but can tell you that this is the bulk of my incontinence. I always make the toilet but leak for 15-20 minutes afterwards. It's never a flood. Just a slow dribble. And I pee every 15-20 minutes, so it's like a constant leak. Urinary frequency, urgency, incontinence is the reason I use Foley catheters and diapers. |

Post-urination dribble often is an indication urinary retention from BPH (prostate) and should not necessarily be directly linked to stress incontinence. Strengthening your pelvic floor with Kegel exercises can help control stress incontinence. --John |
