Hey everyone,

I know I have been away for a really long time but I was just thinking about all my old friends here and the friends that I may have missed sense being gone and wanted to just stop in and say hi for old times sake.
I have been doing very well these past few months. Me and my wife have found a new level of closeness and are really learning how to lean on each other in whole new ways. My incontinence is still here and after hitting an all time low this time last year I am in a much better place.. I was seeing a new doctor and once all the testing was done he was very blunt with my options and, well basically it felt any shred of hope of getting out of a diaper was taken away and i went head long into a fit of depression. The only options i had ranged from a catheter to flat out having the bladder removed.
I managed to pull myself together and I think i have come out on top. I have spoken to my wife many times and we both agree that keeping me whole is the best choice and what is right for us. Now, I'm only human and there are still times it gets me down but those are more and more fewer and farther between.
Thank you to all my friends here and all the support you have shared over the years. You guys and gals are the best. My message to those that are new to this or still trying to learn to cope is this........don't give up. A diaper is not the end of the world. So what you now need more planning for activities that you once took for granted. The fact is you will learn to manage and life Will go on. Be brave. You don't need to be ashamed about this and for God's sake YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!! Hang in there, learn what you can and pick from that knowledge what will work for you and what won't. Once you get that down, trust your protection and get back out there. Remember this, wearing a diaper may be embarrassing but wetting your clothes is more. You may need to swallow you pride a little at first but own the fact you are managing your problem the best way you can and doing what is best for you. Take pride in that fact and move forward. We all have been there and came out on the other side......you will too.

Howdy Rope

Its wonderful to see you here again. :D :D
I for one missed having you around.

I understand having the depression. It seams to live with me at times :? .

That is a wonderful message that you said, and yes I totally agree, YOU ARE NOT ALONE !!
At times it does feel like "Why me", why did I have to start needing to wear diapers again.
But yes it does get better and the sun will rise tomorrow morning. :D

Welcome back Rope! We missed you.

It is good to read that things are getting better, despite the bladder problems.

Welcome back. I too have dealt with anxiety and depression, and they are no fun. Added to incontinence, they can become nearly unbearable. However, the huge industry that has been developed to sell products to meet our needs must be making a profit. There must be millions and millions of us, in the USA alone, which guarantees the end of the stigma. Learning to manage our situation is an accomplishment, a source of legitimate pride. Let stigma and its sibling, depression, take the nearest exit, and stay away.

Rope, it is nice to see you on the forum again. I, for one, missed having you around and think about you frequently. I'm glad you and your wife are working on things. I know when my wife is behind me, I can do anything. Keep us updated and don't be a stranger!!!!

Hi Rope. I'm new to the forums here, but certainly not to incontinence problems. Your message was great, needing diapers and coming to terms with it are very different just as you found out. Glad to see it didn't keep you depressed, and you're absolutely right. You are not alone.
