Hi everyone, it's be a loooong time since I last posted, but a lot has happened since last summer. In July I met someone, we fell in love almost immediately, and I moved in with him In September. I'm now living 3 hours away from ALL my family. Mark is a wonderful person, and accepts my disibilities as things that "just are", my incontinence being one of them. He is just SO supportive it's unreal. I'm so very lucky to have met him. Originally I was to have seen a urologist in October, but the day before the appointment (to which we were going to have to do a 6 hour round trip) I recieved a letter saying that the appointment have been cancelled and rearranged. This has happened a further SEVEN times. I've recently been referred by my new gp to a urologist near here (Norfolk, UK). Back last may I met with the "pee stick nurse" have have been ISC since then. Although the company I get my catheters from is based in Wiltshire, they are perfectly happy to deliver here. The company who provides my nappies however, were not. I have an appointment on Monday morning, to get that ball rolling. Mark has said that he's already taken the morning off work, so he can support me. Considering the clinic is only about 15 minutes from his office, I originally asked him if he could drop me off on the way. HE was the one who asked ME if he could come too. Just another of the MANY reasons why I love him <3. It has now been 1 year 25 days since I became UI, and although the first few months were rough, I'm gradully getting to the point where I just get on with my day. I'm NOT going to be enslaved to my bladder!

On the other hand, I've just made a big decision that I've been uhming and ahhing over for the last 6 months or so. I have just ordered my first cloth diaper from Kins, and I'm super excited to try it when it gets here (6-8 weeks :( The only other update is that over the last 4 months or so, I've started having a few bowel accidents. I'm hoping it's not going to deteriorate, or that I'll suddenly lose control overnight like I did with my bladder, but I'm not going to worry myself mad over it. It's not something I can having control over, so if it happens, I'd just deal with it, like I have with this.

Hope you're all well,

Cheryl

Glad to hear that you are doing well.

Good choice on the cloth diaper. I hope you are as pleased with them as I am.

Re, the bowel accidents, don't let just a few worry you. However, if they continue, you probably should discuss them with your physician. Sometimes pelvic floor issues that affect urinary incontinence also can affect bowel incontinence. You have a positive attitude and I know that you will cope with whatever happens.

Cheryl, I'm happy to hear that you are in a loving and supportive relationship. How did the two of you meet, if I may ask? Best wishes to you.

We had talking online for close to 2 years on a site for a mutual interest. As we had known each other so long online/phone/text, he invited me to visit him and his then 20yr old son for a week in the summer, as he knew the issues I was having with mum, and thought a little break in the countryside would help. We only met as friends, and neither of us ever even considered "liking" each other in another way, as theres quite an age gap, but during the first few days of that holiday, we each felt like we'd been smacked round the head with a 2x4 by Cupid LOL. Never really considered being with anyone "older", other than the few years between my ex and I, but we both learned quickly that age really is just a number. My family have all met Mark, and they all adore him :)

Cheryl,
That is awesome you have found someone. The great thing is that he understands the issues you have going on and is willing to help. the best of luck with Mark. I have said on here many times, my wife has been the rock that I have had to lean on. J.D. mentioned a few bowel accident nothing to worry about but you might want let your doctor know if it becomes more frequent.
