Has anyone found a good detergent they use to wash vinyl pants so they don't fade and become brittle?

I use Dr. Bronner's Castile soap. It is extremely mild.

Also, I would note that it is not always necessary to wash plastic pants with soap. If the pants have not been soiled, a simple but thorough rinsing with hot water often is all that is necessary. Hang to dry.

Stay away from any DETERGENT. The chemical makeup of it will act to deteriorate the vinyl or plastic and make it brittle or crack. Use SOAP, as suggested...and that is the difference.

Really, though, just wipe plastic or vinyl pants with a damp cloth...no need to wash them often, if at all. ALSO, let vinyls or plastics 'air dry' when not in use, so good idea to rotate them if you regularly use vinyls or plastics. Have several for use in rotation to allow air dry time. Avoid use of electric or gas dryers...too much heat!
