My tapes on my xp diaper keeps popping. I hate this. I hate spending $120 on stuff my insurance SHOULD cover twice a month. I can't do this. I'm tired of being incontinent. I'm on disability and I just can't afford this.

justej,

Try calling the company or emailing them I did that with Prevail due to buying the wrong size based on the measurements on the bag. They sent me the size I needed and sent me an entire case. Something I wasn't expecting.

I had tape issues with Attends Breathable. They were super polite on the phone and also sent me an envelope to return 2 diapers for testing and they were gracious enough to send me a whole case with their apologies......the company is a class act.......

Try calling the manufacture they should stand behind the product, but in the mean time try using Ducktape to re enforce the tapes it also helps to keep the diaper snug. I have had the same tape issues with a few diapers now I just automatically add the Ducktape around the diaper keeping it snug.

I have not popped a tape since, it's not the best solution but it works and I was recommend to use tape by several members.

Hope you have no problems getting replacement diapers, it could just be a bad batch

justj,

I will second what Rob said. Just reinforce the tapes and stop worrying about it. I do this automatically and have NO problem with tapes popping. I prefer "Duck" brand duck tape as it is a little less industrial but others are good . Also, the bright colors and patterns help to liven things up. :)

Re tapes popping, I wash my hands immediately before taping each diaper. That also helped a lot before I started reinforcing the tapes. We may think our hands are "clean" but there can be a thin, invisible layer of oils from the skin, lubricant, etc. Even moisture from perspiration.

You have indicated that you are frustrated with leaks. Is it possible that to stop the leaks you are taping just a little too snugly?

I guess my post was more of a frustrated vent.
I can't afford on disability to be buying diapers at all. I struggled before I became incontinent and I'm REALLY struggling now. I'm trying to think happy thoughts but sometimes it's hard...

Justej, It is ok to be frustrated. It is ok to vent. It is great to come here to vent and be frustrated. It is also great to come here and seek advice and put that advice into practice. There are many here who have gone through what you have gone through, are going through, or yet will go through. I know you are new to this and I know there is frustration. Just imagine the frustration of those that have gone before you that didn't have the resource of a site like this to get information. Just imagine the frustation of having the issues you are having but being isolated and feeling alone because there was no community where you could vent your frustration or seek guidance and advice. Please remember that. We are here to help.

I know. And thank you all SO much for the support you have given me. I appreciate it so much.

:)

As a side note, it seems when I'm laying down to put on a diaper the tapes don't pop off later on vs when I do it standing up. Last couple of ones I've put on have been laying down because they have been when I've woken up and had to change and didn't have my brace on my leg and couldn't get up to walk/stand. So I guess the way I'm putting them on standing up has something to do with it.
Aaaaaah, learning curves.
:)

Justj,

Please feel free to vent, after all, all of us here vent some times. In fact, that makes it almost like family.

Re lurning curves, I was making small changes to how I taped for a long time before things worked out. I do it differently for different brands of diapers.
