just got my first pack of a+ level 4 via fedex (just in time. literally. gotta stop doing that!) i ended up placing an order for a case this morning seeing as for the forseeable future ill be wearing diapers. first thing i noticed was no leak guards. has anyone had any issues with not having them? ive heard some say you need them and others say you dont. second was they were thinner than the comfidry (or maybe its because they are less stiff?) third: they fit perfectly! best fitting ive found so far. what are your opinions? ill check in later to update on how they perform. finding the right diaper is a pain in the ass. pun intended. |

justej, Congratulations - finding a diaper with the right fit is critical. A premium diaper that does not fit well probably will leak. I think you will be pleased with the A+. Re thinness, you will find that the A+ swells up to become quite thick. Dress accordingly. I can wear the A+ or the Abena L4 with jeans and they do not show. With dress trousers I have to choose a thinner diaper like the Tena Slip Maxi. As a cost-saving measure to keep the price down, the A+ omitted leak guards and a few other features. That makes it a little less desirable for someone like me who has bowel incontinence, but it is has good leg gathers and is very effective for urinary incontinence. ![]() I would consider the A+ to be a very good value for the price. ![]() --John |

john - yeah i was a little concerned about not having the leg guards because every time ive tried a diaper without them they leak. im not sure what the difference is with these, but ive had great success with them. re: thickness - they do swell up, but i wear baggy pants anyway so it doesnt seem to be an issue. ![]() |

also i think it has to do with the fit. im wearing a large and they fit so much better than even the 24/7 or the molicare. i woke up this morning and had no leaks again. the thing i liked about the 24/7 best was the waistband, but it seems with these i dont even need that! |

justj, I'm happy for you. ![]() You may find that you need to experiment and tweak the placement and angles of the tapes to achieve the best results. This varies from one diaper to the next. Also, if you tend to wear a quality diaper to near its capacity, you will encounter quite a bit of sag. We all have different ways to compensate for this and I forget what you may have said in previous posts. The goal is not to let the weight of a sagging diaper pull the leg gathers away from your inner thighs. Keeping everything in contact is good for leak protection. I use a combination of body suits (adult "onsies") and sports compression pants for this. --John |
