Hey all,

I'm not sure where this would fall under whether it would be what type of diaper.. or how do you deal with your incontinence.. it actualyl includes both, so I stuck it here , in general discussion. In dealing with my incontinence, i have noticed that If i have two different brands of diapers with me as spares, the odd are a lot better that one will stick and stay on when it comes to the extended wear types, because it seems that with each extended wear diaper, there are random defects that cause tapes not to stick or whatever. I have noticed that with Confidry, and sometimes with A+, but mostly with Confi dry. Also, Abena in the past has been known to have tapes that don't stick as well. But, I am posting to tell you that recently Abena must have done something to improve their tapes, because they now stick very strongly. With the bag of Abena i bought recently along with Confidry, I have not had a single tape fail on me! I cannot say the same with Confidry..although to be fair, on the one tab failure ive had, i did spray the diaper with air freshener to get rid of a gasoline smell..maybe that did them in? I don't know, but i am definetly thinking of purchasing Abena X-Plus again in the future. Oh, and i found a way to solve the small slight leaks problem I encoutnered with A+.. On diapers that fit fairly well but have gaps at the legs.. have no fear.. put a pair of undies on over the diaper and then put a pair of plastic pants over, and then another pair of underewar on top of that. Another poster on this forum suggested that I do that. I tried it when i was concerned about the Abena I had on leaking..and it worked great! I was able to go with my friend to dinner at burger king and to the local brewery with no diaper leaks at all, despite my bladder acting like a sive..

Peace out!

Rob

With Abena it seems to vary batch by batch. I had problems with the case before the current one, but not with the case before that. It was probably a slightly different adhesive batch that caused it. Whatever the problems were they seem to have fixed it.

I really like how absorbent I've found the Abena L4's, but I've had awful trouble with the tapes. I've found they don't stick very well at all, and I've had quite a few of the tapes tear off completely. I've remedied this by doing the diaper up, but not too snugly, sitting for 5-10 minutes (because for some reason these diapers always stretch on me?), then re-taping the diaper snugly and putting duct tape over the tapes.

Cheryl,

I always reinforce the tapes on Abena rather than risking the tapes coming undone under the weight of a sagging diaper. Otherwise Abena is a very good diaper. I like to use tape with colorful patterns available in the Duck Tape brand to liven things up a bit (after all, no one else is going to see it, with the possible exception of my wife).
