I recently found out that my previous urologist has retired. I found that as somewhat of a surprise since I had just seen him, and he made no mention of this. I would have hoped he would have told his former patients, and given them recommendations as to who to see. Regardless, I do have an appointment with the new guy the end of April. I'm assuming he has all my previous records, but wondering if it would be proper for me to send him a letter explaining my situation. I have chosen to wear diapers to manage my incontinence issues, which are unpredictable. I have tried meds of all kinds, but do not like the side effects. I have a difficult time divulging all the necessary details when at doctor appointments, so I sometimes don't mention things I probably should. By writing them down I feel braver for some odd reason. I'm not sure what he will think about seeing me in a diaper if I'm brave enough to wear one when I go for the appointment. However, I'm a bit afraid of not wearing one in case I have an accident. Any thoughts?

Don't worry about it. If s/he has been around for a while, then it's all been experienced before. Just be yourself. As you said, he has the records already.

Write down your list of concerns ahead of time and take it with you. That's a great way to make certain that you get all your issues dealt with.
