Hey, I was wondering.. has anyone noticed that their incontinence management has gotten in the way of their job performance? Mine did tonight.. because it was at the end of my shift at walmart or near the end.. an hour left.. and I still had 2 sections of wood floors to mop.. I was wearing an unboosted Attends Breathable Extra absorbent.. and it had already taken multiple wettings.. and I just was about to start the last two..when i wet.. and htought..oh boy, better check.. don'nt want a leak.. Sure enough.. the brief was sauturated..and if i wet again.. I think id eventually have a good chance of leaking.. Not to mention... the padding was breaking down and i could see..ahem..what was underneath showing through... not a good sign! So, i had no choice..but to change..which meant going out to my car when i normally wouldn't be want to be seen doing so by managnnemt.. By the way, in my last foray with incon..i dealt with this issue finally quite well by using extended wear.. and will probably going back to doing that.. But I was wondering, does anyone find they deal with unexpected emergency changes that happen at worst times while working??

I find I'm changing my pads and pull-ups at work at least once or,twice a shift depending on my activity level. Thankfully I have my own bathroom and office etc....I am able to pull off a change pretty easily.....

Rob, have you tried the ConfiDry 24/7? While optimized for overnight, it is an extended wear brief that, in my experience, does not tend to break down like so many others after a few hours of wear.

Hello,
Yes, John, i have indeed tried ConfiDry 24/7... and found them very absorbent.. and great for extended wear on the job.. I don't know if can get away with wearing them discreetly now that the dress code has changed.. and im wearing tan workpants instead of jeans.. the fit might be different.. but they are still 38 waist and I am actually a 36... I do remember some tape issues with them.. but overall quite good...

My incontinence had affected my job as well. It was slowing me down and I was holding everyone up. Once I made the move to wear protection all the time did things get more back to normal. I too was limited on what I could do to help hide what I was wearing. I finally went with Abena L2 during the day and got about 8 hours out of one. Now that those have been discontinued, I tried several other brands. What I found was the Abena L2 cloth like backing did pretty good. The biggest issue like all the other cloth like ones is the longer they are worn and the more you move around, the loosed they get as the velcro comes apart.
It was suggested to me to try a body stocking aka a onesie to hold things in place. Once I swallowed my pride and got some to try I have to admit, I was impressed. My suggestion to you would be try the Abena L2 or L3 and use a body stocking. It will be good to hold everything in place and tight and keep it very low profile. Look it to that combination.

Rob are there any employee lockers you can use? Maybe place a change in a shaving bag to help hide it. I am somewhat like PB&J where I have my own private office which I can shut my door.

Before succumbing to wearing protection, I was dropping what I was doing and rushing to the bathroom. Now with with protection, I just have to worry about leaks if I have an all out flood.

Batman,

Yes I do have a locker..its right by the breakroom though.. and I'm not sure how many people would see me getting one out.. Having diapers in the locker would save me from getting diapers out of my car. But, again, if i wear a premium disposable... I can get by with changing only at lunch.. regardless of my fluid intake.. yes, i realize that in theory, an extended wear "should" last the full 8 hour shift..but it would probably mean risking a chance of rash.. and smelling like an unflushed toilet.. particularly if urine is not diluted.. i know because i went 8 hours with the Wellness and a booster.. and in the afternoon, i could smell myself for sure... and felt a little self consious. My skin felt dry still, for sure.. but odor is definetly a concern with extended wear. I do like the Wellness..even though it fell apart on me a few times, other than that has been relaible.. no issues with tape popping..

And i can definetly relate to the running to the bathroom.. i did do that for a while even while wearing protection.. and that severely affected my job performance, and sometimes ripped off the tape tabs trying to get it down to pee..and at one point i was like..SCREW IT.. i have a diaper on, just use it and do your freaking job... and it eased the emotional stress considerably!

Rope, thanks for the suggestion.. I may have to give abena m2 or m3 a try. Gary at XP agreed to give me an exchange on the Tena... I wonder.. can you go as long in an abena m3 as I did in the wellness? Oh, and i already wear a onesie.. i oreded one along with the tena slip a few weeks after my incon started up again.. I like the ones off XP medical... again, like with the cloth..im buying them a few at a time, slowly building up my supply and defraying cost. I didn't consider it earlier this year, because, at that point.. i had hoped i wouldn't need them, and this biofeedback would work.. now.. well.. I am stockpiling everything i need and operating this incontiennce is going to continue life long..or for a while at least. That way, if i do have dry spell and then another wet spell..im prepared for the wet spell both phyically and mentally..

Peace out!

Rob
