today I was working outside and it was hot so I wasn't wearing protection. Besides I was at home anyway. Well I felt a leak and on quick thinking turned on the garden hose and proceeded to soak myself. Telling my son I was hot and needed to cool off so we could continue putting up the fence. Leak what leak? I was soaked from head to toe cooling myself off.

I've heard of people who have issues doing that kind of think, like spilling the glass of water onto your lap to cover up what has happened, gotta be quick thinking sometimes! Puffy

At the beginning of my process with wearing diapers regularly during the day and not just at night, I used to leave them out in my bedroom, stacked on a small counter next to my bed. I once had to do the dump-the-glass-of-water-in-my-crotch-thing one day at lunch with my coworkers when I found out the hard way that my cat (complete with claws) had been playing with or sharpened his claws on the diaper on the top of the stack sometime during the night which I unwittingly put on in the morning without noticing the numerous small holes he had punctured in the outer shell. When I got home later that day, I found several more destroyed diapers around the stack where he had apparently been having a jolly old time playing that afternoon. Diapers now in closet, cat banned from closet. And I learned to give a quick scan for any sign of damage before putting one on now just in case. My boss who knows about my incontinence and who has been very supportive of me said to me later, "I'm guessing that was intentional. Well played".

Too funny CJ, those little rascals get into everything, don't they? Everything is a toy or scratch post to them! Glad you managed to make a cover for it! Puffy

Yes, Puffy, they certainly do. I have two male cats (one 18 years old and one 14 years old). They have been with me through a lot and it's hard to be mad at them even when they do "cat things" (see above post).

In my house we seem to have two rules:
1) If it moves, it's a toy!
2) If it doesn't move, move it... it might become a toy!!

This reminds me of a support a college friend told me once. Her parents were members of a country club, and growing up she used to go there with her friends to go sledding in the winter (not much call for golf in the snow I suppose).

She told me that the last time she ever went sledding there was when she was about 14, and she and her friends had walked over on their own. At some point after hours of sledding they went into the club cafe for refreshments, and during a funny conversation she laughed to hard and completely soaked her pants. Her friend told her to quickly dump her water on her lap top cover it, so she did. Then she turned around to find the waiter standing behind them. He had witnessed the whole thing. They ran.

Oh my goodness. That would be mortifying... twice. It only really works if no one can tell that the "water dump" was not accidental and if no one knows about the preceding bladder accident. I'd have a hard time going back to that restaurant.

Thank you to all who have so far contributed to this post. I needed that laugh! Especialy the rules with the cat. And I never would have thought of the intentional dumping of water in my lap. I usually don't go without diapers anymore anyway unless I know I am staying home near the bathroom and can make it and don't care about the underwear or clothes I am wearing at the time.

I think it is good to have posts like this every so often to help keep the mood lighter around here.

That was my original intent of the post was to try to bring some laughter MssHendo. I too would not have thought about spilling a glass of liquid in my lap. I did chuckle at the cat stories and felt bad for CJ when it was found out the hard way the cats had clawed them. At home during the day is the only place you will catch me not wearing protection. Just because I don't like wearing it and it is not a long way to the bathroom.
