Sorry, PB&J32! I just knew that I'd miss somebody, and that's why I included all the Dads generally at the end of my post. Now that you mention it, I do remember something about a 4-year-old throwing up in the middle of the night!! Sorry that happened....

I too will say thank you wetters. There is no way you could have known who all the fathers are on here and I'm sure you could spend an entire night listing everyone. Thank you for the well wishes.

Thanks wetters. I got to spend it cuddling with my 6 yo daughter. That is the best part of being a dad anyway and the best present I could get.

Wetters,

Add my thanks. The women served the men (and themselves) an extended brunch at our church on Fathers' Day. My family gave me Neil deGrasse-Tyson's "Cosmos" CDs for the day. And my GI system played nice, so it was a good day.

Today has been a huge reality check. Win some, lose some.

Thanks Wetters, I appreciate the thought. This was not my day, however. After burying my mother on Friday, we got "the call" about my father in law. He is not expected to last through this week. Our lives are revolving around him and his wife (MIL) right now. My wife is very shaken, and yet is trying to remain strong for her mother. Our children were very upset when I took them home yesterday because they knew it was the last time they would see him alive. Hugs were long and precious. The family was flying in from all over and while it was good to see them, the circumstances sure could have been better.
Thanks for letting me vent, it's my therapy right now. Next year will be better, although I will sure miss the man who showed me how to be a great dad.

Wetdad

Im so sorry to hear about your mother and step-father.
My dad passed away a few years ago, and every fathersday I still think of him and do miss him a lot.
